Brennon Chapman was on the recruiting staffs of Hugh Freeze and Matt Luke. He's no longer in the coaching business. He talks a bit about a lot of recruits like Nakobe Dean, Jeffrey Simmons, Cam Akers, and Nigel Knott, and also goes into some detail about the NCAA investigation, Ross Bjork, Hugh Freeze, and some other behind the scenes stuff. Some highlights:
How it essentially came down to Ross Bjork vs. Hugh Freeze during the NCAA investigation
Georgia was able to organize a larger payment to Nakobe Dean because they missed out on other key recruits
How it essentially came down to Ross Bjork vs. Hugh Freeze during the NCAA investigation
Twists and turns in the Cam Akers recruitment, including how his mother told the Ole Miss staff to keep his father out of it
2016 Draft Night for Laremy Tunsil
I thought it was an interesting listen from someone who went through it.

That draft night ordeal for Tunsil was so crazy, I literally forgot about the earlier altercation with his step-father.

It is purely anecdotal but I have good friend who played football at Georgia Tech and was on the coaching staff at GT in the late 80's and early 90's. His job was to make certain players remained academically eligible or became eligible when recruited. CFB is, if what he says is 25% accurate, a snakes den of cheating and payoffs and underhanded shite....and I don't think many people who follow the game doubt it. I don't thin, based on the stories he has told me, that anything the average fan can conjure up comes close the kind of crap that is considered business as usual in college sports recruiting. I am sure some of the stories are told with some poetic license...why wouldn't they be??? But even with a grain of salt they would be sleazy. Dude is a good guy...has Masters Tickets every year so that alone makes him a good friend LOL...he is still in the CFB business and definitely in a position to know some of the dirty laundry which doubtlessly exists.

Wild. If I was Tunsil I would have been hell bent on getting back at the former agent who fricked him. I'm glad to see him flourish in the NFL.

I listened to it this morning. It's still frustrating to think about how Bjork welcomed the NCAA with open arms and made their jobs easier than it should have been. Pretty funny thinking about other coaching staffs calling Barney after he was fired to make sure they were on good terms

It's not a secret that Ole Miss' PR was disastrous during the whole thing, but a lot of people seemed to imply Ross's hands were tied. It's becoming more and more apparent that this was not the case. As a matter of fact, it's looking more and more like Ross was a disaster at Ole Miss.

Who, this guy?
I’m really shocked that it didn’t end well.

For all the shite that Nick Saban gets, hat's off to him for telling the NCAA to go frick themselves when they asked to interview his kids. frick Dan Mullen and Gus

That's certainly the narrative that was pushed. We were told ad nauseam that Ross was the only one providing the type of leadership Ole Miss needed. Freeze made mistakes but he wasn't the only one.

For the sake of not starting shite with other fan bases, a very close friend of mine truly feels like his school doesn’t engage in any paying of athletes. He’s doesn’t deny that rogue boosters hand out cash and benefits that you simply can’t put a $ value on, but I can’t convince him that there are people connected to the university that push athletes to where they need to go when they need something.
