Mathieu deserves consideration as a CB/DB. He may be a complete frick up but every time he stepped foot on the field he was the most dangerous player out there.

Yep, almost have to have Champ on the list. It seemed like there was a Bailey boy on UGA for 20 years in a row. All of them were good football players.

There have been so many great players over the years in the SEC that it's hard to put a definitive #1 on some positions

Btw, What is your o/u on jimmies rustled

If I post on a thread, regardless of content it is usually 9 or 10. Stupid alternating capitalization like a 12 year old girl on AIM circa 2002 strikes fear in the jimmies of ranters across Dixie.

For UF you have to mull these names:

qb Shane Matthews, Danny Wuerffel, Tim Tebow

wr Ike Hilliard (injuries just kept him from excelling in the pros), Jacquez Green, Gaffney (who has played with every single NFL team I think).

ol Markese Pouncey

tight end Hernandez

def tackle Ellis Johnson

lb Spikes

db Joe Haden

a lot of kickers/punters

Sure -- since Manziel threw for 107 less yards -- as a freshman -- than Peyton did in his senior (and best) campaign, while also leading the SEC in rushing. Manziel also:

-- led the SEC in passing yards/game and rushing yards/game

-- scored more TDs than Manning did in any season.

-- has a higher career passer rating, TD/Int ratio, completion % and average yds/attempt

-- rushed for more yards in every game than Manning did in any season -- or in his career

-- set the all-time SEC single game total yards record -- twice

-- won a Heisman.

Can't find any meaningful statistic that Manning amassed in a season -- or his career -- that Manziel didn't surpass as a freshman. So yeah, I can see putting Manning over him.

...and it's "wring," not "ring."
