I have some info from a very reliable person that Golding will be on a very short leash. Strong has had two promises made to him and they are very interesting to say the least. 1) He will take over as D cord at some point during the season. My source has said that A Day will be a re-evaluation of Golding. 2) Saban has informed Greg Byrne that he will be retiring after the 2023 season. Byrne approved Strong’s hire with the stipulation that he will be Bama’s HC after Saban retires.

Why won’t they just build a new Saban like they did last time?

Charlie Strong is not Bama’s HC in waiting. Come the frick on, man.

So they're going to use a glorified practice/intersquad scrimmage to evaluate their defensive coordinator's standing with the team?
Yeah.. that makes sense
Not even Saban knows when he's retiring. Not a single part of your post is remotely believable.

Because of Charlies HC record at USF and Texas?

I love Charlie Strong from his time at UF. Great coach and a great person. However, why would Bama want him as a HC. I can see a analyst/ backup DC.

There’s also “inside Info” that Byrne wants a HC with long fingers.

I don't like the sound of this. Hope it's just a rumor at this point.
