They were 7-1 in conference and won the Orange Bowl.
In his 4th year they won the national championship with a redshirt freshmen starting at QB.

A&M's scheduled isn't too daunting next year.
But still, they have to beat Alabama in College Station, and then not lose two other games in conference.
That will obviously be pretty tough.

They played in the ACC.
Duke was their opponent in the ACC championship game.
The ACC had two other teams who finished in the Top 25 at #8 and #23.

Texas A&M is climbing the SECW ladder. Jimbo will be giving Saban some trouble and establish A&M as a solid #2 in the division.

Depends on how the rest of the SEC looks next year.
A&M returned the most production of anyone this year, LSU brought back the least. Most of the West had coaching upheaval and no offseason to get things in place.
Seemed to be a very down year conference wide besides Aggie and Bama.

Recruiting isn’t over. LSU isn’t really out recruiting us. It’s been pretty even. We’re going to have roughly equal talent in the field. But Ed will be their coach, and Jimbo will be our coach. Advantage: aggy

Currently, LSU is closer to having the #1 class than you are to tying LSU.
