In Atlanta this week for work (first work travel since the covids began) and listening to the locals is entertaining af.
My two takeaways from Atlanta sports radio yesterday:
1. We are feeling sorry for ourselves because we are just not Bama.
2. Muh refs.
Georgia's problem is that they think that they can "duplicate" Alabama in Athens. Do you guys realize this cannot be done? No one can do this. You have to win in your own way. You have to find a way to find the strengths of your program and win that way. It will be unique to Georgia just like it has been for the Alabama's, Clemson's and LSU's of the world. I guarantee that if Dabo comes to Bama one day he will find another way to win there that will not look like Saban's at all.
Unfortunately though, Kirby is trying to duplicate Alabama 2011 and that will not work in today's game. You may steal an SEC Championship here and there but that will be your ceiling.

Worry about your own abortion of a team. Thanks...

He hired Todd Monken. He knows what he needs to do, he just can't seem to find/keep/develop the personel pieces to do it.

The offense UGA is running this year looks nothing like 2011 Alabama. Unfortunately, the QB does.

This is typical Georgia. Georgia people face all things like this. You guys had that game at halftime. You can't play 2 Qs against Bama and expect to win.

Basically what I'm saying is this:
You can't pretend to be a champion. Show up to a game, bark like Dawgs and pretend to be badasses. You have to be badasses and be champions.

Sounds a lot like Louisiana sports radio.
You should feel right at home.

It took one year for tRant to get back to normal. LSU fans watching the Bama game with bloodshot eyes and raging at the teams that lose to them.

This is completely accurate. You can’t be who you aren’t. Nick is the way he is because of upbringing and life experiences. I wish I could show the focus and determination and discipline he does in my life but it’s just not who I am. You can improve yourself but you can’t be what you aren’t.

Youre right that AJ was definitely more of a game manager in ‘11, but really developed into a QB that could make plays in ‘12 and ‘13.
How much eligibility does Bennett have left (i realize this year doesnt count against eligibility). He could end up being exactly what UGA needs.
Also, this was his first road game EVER. Really tough to ask that much of him in this situation, albeit against a very atypical Alabama Defense. It’s going to take a special QB to outscore our offense this year.

My home's in Colorado. I'll always love LSU though. But, Georgia does need some critiquing even if it's by a fan of another championship program.

I should not have insulted AJ. Bennett is a poor man's AJ. I like him, but he is too short and has too weak of an arm to be an effective QB against the better teams. Theoretically, he has 2 years left, but that is purely theoretical.

AJ McCarron was a much better quarterback than Bennet will ever be. One point is that he threw only 15 interceptions in 4 years.
edit: I should have read further down the thread.
My guess is your coaches will try the other guy that transferred in

Bennett is actually decent for a walk-on who stepped up when the main QB quit on the team. I will give him props for that. A lot of the Georgia team is elite but still very undisciplined.
You win first. Then talk later. If you are going to copy anything from Alabama, copy that.

You need to chill
