I love this week every year. UF-LSU has been the game I’ve attended most as a UF fan. My very first football game was the UF-LSU game in 98.
Here’s to a great game tomorrow night

Yep. Might need some fricking relaxers for when my arse inevitably puckers in the 4th.

My first SEC game ever was LSU/Florida in 1982. Great series. Good luck

As always, it’s going to be a fun one.

I hate Florida with a passion but this is probably my favorite game of the year.
Always good and what SEC is all about.

I always love the Florida game.
tl;dr story upcoming...
I was a stupid high school kid in 1997. It was a "two-month" anniversary with a girlfriend, and we planned a date night on the Saturday night of the LSU-UF game... and I thought the place we were going had a TV. Now LSU was a fun, scrappy team led by Herb Tyler and Kevin Faulk, and Florida was the best team in the country and had kicked our asses for as long as I could remember.
On the drive to the restaurant, I had the game on the radio. I couldn't believe LSU was up 14-0 when we arrived at the restaurant. It was amazing. But when we got inside, there was no TV. And this is before cell phones, so I had no way of checking scores. I was incredibly anxious. After ordering waters (baller, no big deal), I told her that I needed to use the restroom. Instead, I walked outside and turned on the car and listened to the game. After about 20 minutes, I figured I needed to return inside. She seemed so worried about me and asked me if I was okay. She thought I was sick to my stomach. I didn't tell her.
We ate quickly and then got back in the car and went home to watch the rest of the game. Such a great game for LSU, and such a wonderful learning moment for a young Uhtred... never never never plan a date night (or anything, really) on LSU game day. We broke up shortly afterwards, but she never found out.
I love the LSU-UF game. Here's to a good game!

Everyone attending have a great time! I am jealous that I can't go. Been to Tiger Stadium the most of any true road game for Florida. Seen us get spanked and do some spanking and some great nail biters as well.
Should be perfect weather tomorrow!

Yeah I really like this series. Every time I have been to Gainesville. I have had a decent time.
I remember one year some gator fans had a coonass trap (a corndog was the bait). We said they would catch more of us with bud light. We joked and tailgated with them for the day. They tailgated with us in BR the next year. Still chat about the series annually.

As a lad I grew up in Gainesville. In 1957 I was wearing my Boy Scout uniform ushering people to seats in Fla Field watching Jimmy Dunn, Roundtree, and Bernie Parish (Fla) beat Billy Cannon (LSU- I also saw Billy Cannon win the 100 yd dash in the SEC conference track meet).
There were some great games Fla-LSU in the 1950-60s, and since Florida never was that great back then, I only remember the wins. When I went to Alabama they won so much I only remember the losses.
Footnote: when Ray Graves became the Florida football coach in about 1960, they bought my parent’s house...(.this was long before coaches were paid big bucks). Coach Graves had two good looking daughters... went to high school with them.
