In 2010 A&M tried to join the B10

Just a reminder of who they really are. They tried to lead Nebraska, Iowa State, kansas, and Oklahoma to kill the B12 and escape UT.
When you see all these posts by their fans suggesting b10, it’s because they want to be out of Texas’s shadow in every way. I believe if the B10 came knocking they’d jump to not be in the same league as the Horns and risk what happened in the B12. The shadow is returning.

Complete BS and not true. We never had any interest in B10. Of course any article in the internet proves we did. Lol

The Sunbelt has an opening or two. Don't know if they'd accept A&M?

Thats funny because it really was Colorado and Nebraska who wanted the Big 10, we obviously were looking around at the time, but never wanted to end up there.
And thinking that we are gonna tuck tail and run from the horns if the Big 10 were to reach out Ive got some ocean front property in Arizona to sell you.... We left a weak conference that wouldnt stand up to them, SEC isnt gonna play their games and they will be equal to everyone else. We arent scared of that.
On top of all that we are a southern, mostly conservative based school that values football above all other sports, we fit right in with the SEC, not the Big 10 who tried to cancel the season back in 2020.

Yeah, this has to be bullshite. There's no way anyone would think the B1G had ANY interest in aggy, okie, or Iowa State. The very idea of it is laughable.

And y'all didn't?
Hell, we put out feelers for the ACC and Big10 in the 90's.
There was interest in both parties.
Luckily, we stayed.

Lol, posted by a Mizzou fan.
From your own article:
Sorry y'all weren't important enough to be included.

Doubt the validity of your link, revisionist history

Nebraska tried to join the B1G several times over 100 years. Interestingly all those links died after they actually joined the B1G and the actual Wik pages were changed and deleted reference to former times Nebraska tried to join
Iowa State is AAU, but with Iowa already in the B1G this sounds doubtful. If the B1G was stalking Notre Dame the Cyclones just are not on the same level.
Kansas is AAU and flagship for the state of Kansas but even with a premier brand, not sure that appealed to MeatChicken or BuckNuts centric B1G and football
Oklahoma is not AAU and though they are a solid add across the sports spectrum the ego of the B1G probably viewed the Sooners as 2nd or 3rd class and not up to an invite (maybe an add with austin, but not without them).
TAMU would be below Sooners on the sports spectrum but were AAU at the time so I could see that as a pair with austin but probably not alone. If you read the B1G fanboy sites back then it was all about Notre Dame and Texas and they viewed TAMU as redneck hillbillies in TX.

A&M did not try to join the B10 and was already in talks with the sec by 2010.

Just exactly where in that article does it state for a fact that A&M was trying to join the B10? Have you actually read the article or are you just going off the title? Can you actually read the article? Are the words to big for you? Can you read at all?
Its interesting in that Nebraska was the only team you mentioned that actually went to the B10.
I also don't see A&M buddying up to chokelahoma to try and make a deal with the B10.

I glanced at the article and didn't see anything about A&M contacting or attempting to join the B10.
Also... A&M honestly attempting to join the B10 would have gone over like a turd in a punchbowl among boosters. Career suicide at A&M if anyone in power made a run at the B10.
You forgot to thank A&M for helping your teams sorry arse get out of the B12. Had Ags not gone I guarantee you Mizzo is still in B12.

That article is complete BS, at least in terms of A&M's involvement in trying to head to the Big 10. There's nothing at all attractive about the Big 10 other than the absence of Texas (and it looked like Texas had some interest in the Big 10 at one time).
It IS true, however, that we're smart enough to know that the sips are a cancer that ruins every conference they are in and that we wanted no part of any further business partnerships with them. Half of you dumb mouth breathers are going to have to learn that the hard way. The other half of you already know it's true and just like being shite slinging chimps on internet forums. Within a few short years after Texas starts playing in the SEC, all you clowns will be ready to throw Sankey off a cliff for bringing these jagoffs on board.

We should swap A&M for Rutgers.
At least Rutgers isn't scared of playing Wake Forest in a bowl game.

A&M never applied to go to the B1G. Going through the cobbwebs in my memory, the only real chatter about the B1G prior to Nebraska bolting was a deal where Texas and A&M go.
There were talks with the Pac going all the way back to 1991 for Texas and A&M. It would make sense to put the feelers out though to the B1G. If memory serves, the administration felt A&M was a fit academically (large public research school, AAU, etc) but travel would be too difficult. Travel was actually easier to the Pac because the schools that would have been in our division were in cities with major airports.
There would not have been any scenario where A&M would have gone to the Pac or B1G without Texas. The SEC was a different story.

Reminding us of events many moons ago is the point of this thread so I don't sew an issue with an old article
