How long will it last? Kids are now holding current teams hostage for more money to stay….3rd string QBs are making more money than the starting QB for the NFC’s best team…lol

IDK..I’m trying to think of a sports related industry of this size in terms of dollars that went away or even significantly declined. The incentive is HUGE to figure this out.

I remember starting years ago reading of younger generation’s trending disinterest in MLB. The sport has evolved and there must still be enough interest since the Dodgers just spent $1.3 billion on 3 players.

I think adding OU/tx will bring fans out if nothing else for the newness. That will take at least 4 years to rotate. And I think fans will still get out to the games its a ritual. Stadiums have seat service and other things they are doing to cater to the younger ones.

Not as many can afford the ticket prices with inflation and interest rates up. Been to the grocery store lately?

I’m going to be honest here. I’d rather watch it from home.
I’m working on building a setup for next season in my barn that will have 4 TVs so I can see multiple games at once. There’s beer. The food is cheaper and better. The bathroom access is faster. Never miss a play.
Plus tickets to our home games are getting scalped for $300+ per ticket in the lower bowl. Sometimes $600-$1000 for really big games. Last year when Tennessee came in the get in price was $600 and tickets on the 50 yard line were over 3 grand.
If people are willing to pay that much for tickets I don’t see the stadiums going empty any time soon.

They definitely need to add better wifi at the stadiums at a minimum.

Interesting observation. At some point will stadiums start decreasing seating capacity? I can see this with remodels... slashing thousands or tens of thousands of seats.

Most of the larger stadiums are just a change in IRS tax deductions from having loads of empty premium seats and suites.

Yes. CFB has been purposefully reshaped into a made for TV event by ESPN. And, schools have whored their campus on game days to private, corporate interests over actual fans.
