Not true, Bama's record vs top 10 teams is 10-3. I know math is tough for LSU fans but that is 77%-72% in Bama's favor. Of course if you didn't have to play Bama your record would be 12-2.

During O's tenure, Bama leads LSU vs top 5 teams: 9-2 82% to 5-4 56%.

Bama leads LSU vs ranked teams: 18-4 82% to 15-6 71%.

You've had a nice run over Orgeron's tenure just not as good as Bama's .

Not really, unless Bama gets draconian scholarship reductions which it had for the only time in its history when Ark won the West (congratulations btw, '99 and '06 were very fine teams). Without Saban and the penalties, Bama won 4 of 5 West titles and under the scholly reductions Bama won an SEC title and another West title that was taken away.

Most think that Bama will drop off the face of the earth when Saban leaves. History indicates NO. Bama has won 8 SEC titles under coaches other than Bryant (13 in 25) and Saban (7 in 15). So, that is 8 in 58 years or 13.8%, that's a higher rate than any other SEC program. The 2 second best are UTn and UGA with 13 in 98 years or 13.3%.

So, Bama without Bryant and Saban has still been more successful than any other SEC program. Of course why would you take away your 2 best coaches who coached for 40 of your 98 years in the league ?

Yes, Bama without Saban is likely to drop off but not like many think. And they are unlikely to have the dysfunction that was had when Bryant retired. Many lessons have been learned and Joab Thomas is long gone. Greg Byrne is light years ahead of where Bama's admin was then.

Bama's had 5 coaches (5 or more years) with an 80+ winning % since 1916, the rest of the SEC combined has 3: Neyland, Spurrier and Meyer. Most do well to have any above 70%. Alabama is more than Bryant and Saban as transcendent as they've been.

Aggies bring up LSU

Apparently, they measure all success against LSU.

Think it came from this article:

Not only has Orgeron played the hardest schedule in America, but he’s 9-3 against Top 10 opponents — 8-0 against those not named Alabama.

That's using gametime, not actual final rankings. So it counts 7-6 Miami and 8-5 Texas as "top 10" wins.

The record is referring to top 10 at time of game

No doubt.

That's what people use the majority of the time when they compile these statistics.

I guess take that up with the college football world.

It's basically how all ranked wins are quantified.

They don't.

I simply pointed out that ranked wins are recorded as "at the time played" which is why your list isn't matching up with the statistic given.

You seemed confused.

I guess that's a no on the link?
