They have been waiting for their turn to host the final four again just to have their huge football stadium be full of empty red seats. I would assume they’d consider downsizing, but it has to be disappointing since this isn’t what they had in mind.

Update: Mark Emmett is indeed looking to downsize from Mercedes-Benz Stadium

No way it’s not held at GT or State Farm.

I would have to agree. Too big, empty, and expensive not to.

I have much more sympathy for the student athletes than for the local governments.

But I feel ya.

The fact that they'd have to set everything up knowing nobody is going to sit in them..............

They do have the ability to seal off the upper level, so possibly they could do something to make it feel more intimate, but I dunno.

Mark Emmert says the NCAA is looking to move the Final Four out of Mercedes-Benz Stadium into a smaller venue in Atlanta.

Regional sites could also be moved from the currently scheduled arenas to smaller venues in same cities.

The plan is to keep sites for the 1st round as is.

It's more about the restaurants and shops that count on the business. I'm sure the waiters and bartenders will be feeling it.

No doubt. I've seen some industry events canceled recently that had to have left entire hotels completely empty. Along with all the restaurants nearby that are completely booked every night.

Maybe they'll just go to a local rec center and play shirts-and-skins, make it-take it.

If they aren't going to allow fans, I'd rather watch them play in a high school or small college gym.

Now I know for certain that the NCAA is run by fvcking idiots

Simply hire a Stats Analysis firm that can randomly choose certain Tix holders to all the NCAA Tourney games once that is done tell them that their Tix are still good but fans at the games will be re assigned to every 3rd or 4th seat to prevent the chance that the Virus is spread

Those that don't win the random draw will get refunded

Remind fans of March Madness to:

Wash hands thoroughly and frequently

Never touch your face in Public

Limit use of tobacco products to eliminate hands to face incidents

No matter what, the NCAA did what they always do which is make the worse decision possible

It's better to have fans spread out than no fans in the Arenas at all

Hard to believe that those azzholes running the NCAA pull down 7 figures a year, only in America, only if you're ............
