I’m not a LSU fan but Ohio State being #1 is BS

Who has Ohio State beaten? Freakin Wisconsin and Cincinnati? What a joke.
LSU has beaten Florida, Texas, and Auburn. If they beat Alabama this weekend and don’t jump Ohio State then this Committee may be the worst yet.

Big task at hand, but I agree in principle.

I think any of Ohio State, LSU, and Alabama could be ranked number 1. Ohio State based off their potential, LSU based off of their performance so far this year, and Bama because of the past decade.

But you deserve to be favored this weekend. I still think LSU will pull it out.

They aren't the same thing.
We shouldn't be ranked #1 because our resume isn't good enough as of right now, but every metric and advanced stat makes it pretty clear the line is where it is for a reason.

Certainly possible

Only three teams have won the most legitimate title that exists in college football to this day
The state school out west is not one of them
Have some respect for your superiors

Saturday will decide which team jumps to #1 and which team falls out of the top 4.

I know it doesn’t matter right now but how you can beat #10, #11 and Texas and not be #1 is ridiculous. If they beat #3 and are still at #2 how could you possibly justify that?

No argument here. Your next few games will determine whether you are deserving of even the current ranking or just living off of achievements in the past.
Good luck Saturday!

Piss off! It is quality win on the road with a highly ranked opponent at the time. Again, piss off!

Last time tOSU had a pulse in the CFP they were curb stomped 31-0 by Little ol Clemson. They (and the B1G have been licking their wounds for two years as they were shut out of the last two Playoffs. Now they’re getting set up for another beat down - once again proving that teams from up North (ND is another) get exposed when they go up against better Southern teams.

Texas will finish middle of the pack in the Big 12 this year, who else has L8U beat on the road this year? OSU has blasted everybody they have played and look like the most complete team doing so, both to the eye and on the stat sheet. 1-4 is in the dance.

Doesn’t really matter, what they hopefully gave us is a roadmap to the final four.
Basically it said UGA, only way you get in is to win out period end of story.
Clemson win out and your in
PSU - has to win out because if they lose they drop behind UGA probably.
Bama - doesn’t have to win out because PSU and OSU still have to play.. But OSU losing to PSU and then winning out could be ahead of a 1-loss Bama team because they are two spots ahead right now. But a PSU loss should put them behind a 1-loss Bama
LSU - doesn’t have to win out, again a close loss to Bama and then winning out should have them ahead of UGA. And should move them back in the 4 top teams.
OSU - doesn’t have to win out a close loss to PSU and then winning out from there should have them in front of UGA.
The teams that could hum that up would be Baylor going undefeated, they surely would be put in the top 4 with two wins over OU to get there.
And since the PAC - 12 hasn’t been the odd conference out and since Mullens is a PAC-12 AD they might give the winner of the PAC-12 the nod over a 1-loss non SEC champion because of Mullens.
But if the games kinda go the way it is looking right now looks like 2 SEC teams get in if the game on Saturday is close between LSU/Bama

As long as you finish in the top 4, the rest doesn't matter. LSU is in just as good of a spot as anyone else.

This is basically it. LSU wins, they are number 1. If Bama wins, there is a good chance they are number 1.
