I'm loving this completely false but awesome "A&M has 50k in the stands" narrative

I love that 24k fans at an 11 AM game in October were so loud and had such an impact on a game that we've decided the only explanation was that we had twice as many people there

Arkansas fans on 247 and Hogville are talking about filing formal complaints with the SEC over this
It’s taken on a life of its own

For the record, I think A&M should fill it to capacity as should every school. frick the fake data about COVID.

Don't worry, they talk about plenty of asinine stuff over there.

50K, nah but more than 24k
Hell, most of my aggie friends and family agree it was certainly more than that

The way this freakin' COVID virus is taking off again even these crowds could soon be a distant memory.

quote:Nice picture, but if you look at it critically, it proves the point. When those stands are filled to 100% capacity, the only think you see is heads and shoulders packed like sardines--you literally have to turn from one left to right, like venetian blinds, when the action crosses the 50 yard line for a normal game. When you can see people from the waist up, and some from head to toe, that's because the section is only 25% occupied.

If you look at the rest of the stadium it's really spread out. The students just decided to ignore the spacing and grouped together in the sections on the sideline. I would probably do the same if I were them.

I have heard that it is an unbelievably electrifying atmosphere. It must be quite a spectacle to witness in person.

I may make it to College Station some day.

College Station is a great place to watch a game. The problem there is that they are super duper nice, delusional to the point it is prideful, and stuck on some traditions that nobody thinks is cool except them.
There home record since 2000 is abysmal considering the support they have and it is a direct result of being an unintimidating atmosphere. If they could get some cheerleaders on the field, cut the yells out and just be unpredictably raucous, then they would win more games.

It ain't Baton Rouge on a Saturday night, that can make your ears bleed, but it's loud and much more under control. Frankly, the stadium reminds me a lot of BDS.

Haven’t been there either or to Starkville (or Spain). Been all over the southern states but you know some of these places you wouldn’t go to unless, well, you were actually trying to go there.

I haven't been to Little Rock, that's it. I remember sitting in death valley since Charles Alexander "The Great" was starting for LSU. Like coach Bryant said, "it was like playing in a drum." A little earlier in time I was just a mere child on my first trip to Neyland and watched Bama pull out a hairy one 17-10 in the last minutes vs Condredge Holloway's group.
You got to get to these places. They stay with you forever.
