And is this a guy you see as a sort of HCIW at your school?

What’s his current role, and do you anticipate him ever taking over somewhere as a head coach?

Yes eventually but we pay him pretty well. Maybe he’ll just wait out O

I live in perpetual fear of Elko bouncing to another program, as HC.
But without a doubt, he’d be my pick too.
I think this is our last year with him, though; and 2020 has always been our “go to” year.
So ... sad face.

Forgive my naïveté, but I just looked up this guy, and I can’t tell whether you’re being serious.

His resume isn’t robust by any stretch.
But he has to be a good egg, or he wouldn’t be on Saban’s staff.

What’s his story?

Wouldn't really want to promote one to HC...but if I had to choose probably Gray. Best personality.

Cut from the same mold of other great Saban assistants like Muschamp, Fisher, Pruitt, and Smart. Just seems to have it. Carries himself well and a tremendous recruiter.

It's a good question. Both coordinators are new. Dell McGee might actually get the nod. Kirby has mentioned that whenever he's unavailable, Dell kind of handles more of the "managerial" capacity role... would allow both Coordinators to handle their shite, and Dell might be a better fit at the top?

Could certainly make a case for Coley though. I don't think Pittman would want the gig, or he might be in the conversation. He doesn't even want to be an OC.

If our head coach was fired today, we would not promote within. First, all of you would immediately tune into ESPN to see what scandal unfolded. Then after the dust settles, we would be hiring one of your coaches.

Bama would offer Coach O a boatload if money...

Bama and A&M always go after sloppy seconds from LSU.

Unlike Butch Jones, I’m not sure Coach O could even cut it as an intern at Alabama.

I would have to agree unless it turns out that one of the position coaches develops into an elite head coaching candidate.
