*due to the outrage and hurt feelings, I edited this post*

For all you Bammers who pray to Bear in your mama’s doublewide that Saban wins another ring so your self esteem will be justified, do you also send one up to St Urban?

Both on paper are highly successful coaches who won at every program they coached.

Both had that “win at all costs” attitude. Over recruiting is a dirty word.

One cheated on his wife. The other covered up domestic violence.

One had a “circle of trust” to hide all indiscretions by his players. The other paid players and fixed games.

Both are worshipped by fan bases who gleefully deny any wrongdoing because “we winning so that’s means I’m winning too.”

Both are trash.

So if you’re ok with that, kiss their asses. But if you idolize one, you can’t rebuke the other.

Bear Bryant never coached for the enemy on the other side of the Ohio Ocean!

Bear > CUM

I know he was at Terps for a year, but back then they were more southern than yankee.

What is this woman beating stuff? That is a pretty serious charge to level against someone who cannot defend themselves.

There is absolutely zero evidence to this horseshite.

Ask anyone who knew the man, he was a consummate gentleman.

And BTW he never advocated "win at all costs" either. Never. He coached his guys to never quit and never give up.

Takes real courage to hide behind a fake name on the internet and accuse a deceased person of beating women without any evidence he did so.

I'll second this one. If there is proof this happened, by all means, lets see it. If not stop slandering a dead man who isn't here to defend himself.

Bryant played Tennessee in 1935 with a broken bone in his leg. Bet you a bottle of whiskey and a carton of Chesterfields CUM couldn't do that.

Yeah, these seems revisionist, to me at least.

Now I remember hearing he would drink like a fish, but hey the man lived hard. At least he didn't lose his pants. I think I remember one of his spots was the old Copacabana Hotel(Thomas Jefferson Building) in Birmingham.

But this woman beating stuff just seems like a smear on dead man.

dont you? Without Urbs, UF is less relevant than UTk since 2001. Spurrier was actually a bigger POS than all as a coach and a human being.

I don't usually agree with Bama folks, but I do agree with this.

He admitted to running around on Mary Harmon when he was at Kentucky and A&M. But a high percentage of coaches do that at one point in their careers.

The Bear is still rustling jimmies almost four decades after his death. Sounds like a life well-lived to me.

Yeah, but that is a different thing. IT just bothers the hell out of me when people smear someone with shite like saying they hit women.

Just throwing things to the wall to see if they stick is pretty low, imo.

Welcome to life in today's superconnected, hive-minded society. It doesn't matter if a person actually did a thing or not. If you can associate them with that thing in popular discourse, then your job is done. Actions are irrelevant these days.

Right. Paying players and over recruiting to the point that Georgia Tech pulled out of the SEC isn’t winning at all costs.

horseshite,Spurrier has 10X the character of CUM.

Look at all the trash CUM recruited at UF and the program was pretty much a zoo when Muschamp took over

Spurrier was somewhat obnoxious and lord knows he owned the Dawgs but he ran a clean program with integrity @ all the colleges he coached.

Urban wouldn't wrestle a bear for a $1 either.
