If you went to a non P5 school, would you still root for your state school?

Most people I know that either didn't go to college or went to a smaller school like Rice, are all Texas fans. The people that live in small towns in Texas? Texas fans. I honest to god can't say I've ever seen an aTm fan who didn't go to Blinn or is an aTm grad/legacy.

Many people that I've known to have gone to A&M still cheer for Texas. People have different reasons for attending a school but love of their state school is something they were born with.

Yeah, I went to ITT tech. I was a fricked up in high school. Weed and meth. Was dumb to go to ITT but it did get me a career in I.T. 15 years later I'm still paying for that overpriced piece of paper.

There's a lot of P5 teams in Texas. They're all mostly mad that we've destroyed them in the last century when they should be thanking us for subsidizing their football programs.

I am a Bama fan because I am blessed enough to be from the great state of Alabama, not because I went to school there - although I did. But had I ended up going to a different school I'd still be a Bama fan. Where I'm from will always trump where I attended school.

Yeah, but our sidewalk fans are salt of the earth people who make our team even better.

My parents and Sis went to SC. I got in there but went to the Citadel. Mom and dad were season ticket holders for aong time. As an ADD kid I was afraid I wouldn't have the discipline on my own to do what I had to do at a regular school. Since they don't show many of my Alma Maters games on TV, I follow SC as my team. When they do play head to head, I pull for the Citadel....
