I get that but what is AL’s best win?
8-4 MSU, 8-4 OM?, 8-4 Texas?
Their other wins are Vandy, aTm, AU, Utah State, UL Monroe, Ark, & Austin Peay. They have 3 wins over P5 teams with winning records. They lost to a 3 loss and a 2 loss team.
Ohio State beat 8-4 ND, 10-2 Penn State, 7-5 Maryland, 7-5 Iowa, 4 P5 teams with winning records, 1 of which is a top 10 team in the final standings. And they have 1 loss to the undefeated #2 team. TCU has 4 wins over P5 teams with winning records, 5 over teams ranked at game time. And if they lose it would be to a team they’ve already beaten and their first loss.
With 2 losses AL needed much better wins.

Whoever the committee puts above the other this week is the answer. The other will need for TCU to lose as well.

Don’t get embarrassed by South Carolina and you’d be in. Instead you join Mississippi State as the only #1 in the initial poll not to make the playoff.

Neither is going to make it, but Tennessee ahead of Alabama is a pretty dumb take.
Yes, Tennessee beat Alabama. At home by 3 points and only with a lot of help from the refs. Nobody really thinks Tennessee is the better team.
And then to add to that, Tennessee got blown the frick out by South Carolina.
Oh, and they lost their starting QB if all that wasn't enough.

Southern Cal should be there over both teams even with a loss.
