If UNC even had a “better than Georgia” QB, ND would be down by 2 scores.

UNC's QB is very good.

Notre Dame is a damn solid ballclub. They aren't elite at a ton of spots, but they have very good trench play, better athletes in the back 7 than they used to and a really good, veteran college QB.

Well, then, ND must have a hellacious secondary. Can’t tell much without more views downfield, but ND is getting a lot of coverage sacks.

ND is dominating the line of scrimmage. That kid can play. If NC had any semblance of an OL they'd be cruising.

And a historically elite philosophy department.

Carolina's OC is Phil Longo, who was at Ole Miss with Patterson/Luke. He's the guy who runs like 9 plays.

Sam Howell is a likely first round pick, and possibly the No.1 overall player drafted in 2022.

Sam Howell is legit.

ND started bringing pressure in the 2nd quarter and it has worked to get Howell's eyes to drop to the pressure instead of staying downfield. He's leaving the pocket early in some cases which is actually allowing the pass rush (mostly bringing only 4) to get to him.

People don't seem to be willing to accept this. They are so used to Notre Dame flopping and flopping hard against good competition. I'm not saying that Notre Dame is going all the way this year, I'm simply saying this is the best team Brian Kelly has had while he's been at Notre Dame.

They aren't as good across the board as Alabama/OSU/Clemson, and I doubt they best Clemson in Charlotte, but they're absolutely as good as anybody in that 2nd tier of very good teams.

Holding UNC to less than 300 yards and 17 yards is maybe the most impressive defensive performance of the season.

Thank you. There's a lot on ND hate here, but they are a top four team and deserve to be in the playoffs even if they lose to Clemson in the ACCCG. Maybe the best defense in the country.

I'm not too sure they are the 4th or even 5th best team in the country, though.

But who is better? They're great defensively, solid offensively and beat Clemson (QB or not).

Them, Florida, A&M would all be interesting and fun matchups.

Alabama
Ohio State
Clemson
I think Florida would beat them and MAYBE A&M. But, after looking at the rankings I can also see your point.

Oh yea, agree, they aren't in that top 3 (even after beating Clemson).

But after that, they're definitely in that 4-6 group.

Notre Dame is good. They have a better defense than anyone in the SEC except maybe Bama recently.

Howell will probably be Top 5 in Preseason Heisman Odds next year.

#5 is aTm and #6 is Florida. I believe ND would beat either of those two teams. Anybody else you have in mind?
