if UCF beats Auburn, does Cindarella have better odds to make the dance moving forward???

especially if they win in impressive fashion?
or does it accelerate the rush to a 6 or 8 team playoff??
we are looking at what could be the "perfect storm" for those that want to see an 8 team playoff
if UGA & Bama both win & face off in the final game, and if UCF beats Auburn (a team that would have been a consensus playoff team had they won the SEC); then expect the cries for more playoff teams to get louder
UCF actually had a fairly decent schedule (no worse than Wisconsin or Bama)
don't frick this up Auburn
y'all need to not just win; but win impressively
UGA vs Bama for a natty + UCF beating Auburn = strong push for 8 team playoff IMO

Do it like B.B. 64 team playoff. Only Fair way to do it. Championship game on March 15.

As much as I dislike Auburn, they are really in an unenviable situation. No real college football fan knows anything about UCF, but will root for them, just for the sake of rooting for the underdog. But if you'd ask fans, 90% don't know A. any player on UCF B. what colors are their uniforms C. what their mascot is or D. where the campus is located.
During the broadcast, I will guarantee that ESPN will show and mention each of the following previous games multiple times:
Boise State's Statue of Liberty play, whomever it was that beat FSU a couple of years ago, and Utah over Alabama.

you really don't think that an unbeaten team beating a traditional power that was one game away from being a consensus #2 in the playoff rankings strengthens the argument to expand the playoffs?
most people believe that the LSU vs Bama game for a natty was the linchpin that created the playoffs
so why wouldn't 2 SEC teams in and a 3rd that was a lock to get in if they had won the SEC getting beat by a team that got "snubbed" ratchets up the debate?

AU is going to beat them in the trenches. That skinny little QB has no idea what’s headed his way.

No.....I think the committee is afraid of a non-P5 team getting prison raped if they put them in the final 4. FWIW I wanted UCF in the playoffs

why would any one put in a team whose sos is like 83rd, according to sagarin. if you do that, then why would any one schedule a hard game again?

I think you’re projecting. UCF won a BCS bowl 4 years ago. Cfb fans know who they are.

Auburn is going to win by at least 3 touchdowns.

maybe
probably
but that has zero to do with my question and my assertion
2 SEC teams in the playoffs + an undefeated team beating an SEC team that was 1 game away from the playoffs = nightmare/worst case scenario for the selection committee

If you really don't know anything about UCF, you probably aren't a big CFB fan. They won a BCS game 4 years ago, they're almost always mentioned as a potential Big XII expansion team, and before the American they were probably the premier program in the CUSA.

They will push for 8 teams and use UCF as an excuse to expand it. The UCFs of the world still won't get in with 8 teams though. A large part of the push for 4 was getting small schools in, and they honestly had a better chance with the BCS.

Nah, we going to lose. No more mulligans.

I can't imagine an SEC team losing to UCF in a bowl game. That would be pathetic.

People say this stuff every year, but G5 and formerly non-BCS schools have a remarkably good record in major bowls. I like Auburn to win, but UCF is the best passing team they've played by far, Auburn has struggled away from home, and Auburn has about as little motivation as possible. Not only did they blow it in their last game, they have to play in the same stadium they just blew it in.
