CF= college football. I hear this comment non-stop from the talking heads. I personally think colleges should be open to all students in the fall. But if they are not, it is easy to argue for still having college football. The main reason would be that I’m sure these players want to play. Let’s stop pretending these guys at big time programs are student-athletes, they are athlete-students, playing in the NFL’s minor league. There are millions of dollars on the table for these dudes. A guy studying to be an engineer may still be able to learn what he needs to do without attending in person classes, but these players need to be able to play in order to showcase their skills to NFL teams.

Never thought about it, but it would suck to be the only people on-campus. The other fall sports have pushed back competition.

Who said it’s going to be better in the spring?

Classes are online until 9-21. But we’re just delaying the inevitable. Others schools will start making these announcements soon.

It's actually safer for the players with no students on campus. The argument makes no sense.

I see no reason to think it will be any better in the Spring. That’s one of the frustrating things about this whole situation. Long-term plans/solutions are rarely if ever discussed by the decision makers. Apart from a vaccine getting developed(which seems super unlikely IMO), what would lead anyone to believe things would be any different in 6 months?

I don't see why players can't take online classes like everyone else and still play.

Seems these players signed a contract for tuition, and an education, and such and if it can be done safely then they should be able to have an opportunity to fulfill it.

Believe it or not, many athletes have become successful outside of sports.

Hopefully they get their chance to earn it.

Absolutely, but football players at SEC schools have a unique opportunity to make millions of dollars playing football. My point was that regular students going to class is different from the players playing football because there are millions of dollars on the table with football.

Do y’all think high school football or major college football is more likely or justifiable under the circumstances?

Actually not true. Even the biggest of the big time programs might have 10 or 12 kids who even try to make it to the NFL every year.

I'd think the players have access to better health care on campus provided by the team/school.

Yeah, but there won't be as many hot 20 year old women around either. I would rather chase tail.

NCAA has already stated if a campus is not open to every student then no scholarship athletics for that campus.
