If the big 3 sports were discontinued (including women’s softball), what would you choose

To dominate college athletics.

I’ll say soccer. It would be absolutely amazing if we could truly have very competitive college soccer teams which would serve as a building block for our USMNT and USWNT (which it already does for women).

nothing would dominate college athletics if that were the case.

Soccer is the most God awful boring creation in the World and has the worst fans bar none.

Women's beach volleyball would be my pick to replace the rest.

Only kid I knew who made the USMNT didn't go to college, was drafted by the MLS at 16

Nothing would rise to the same level as those 4 sports and what remained would be entirely regional (soccer down south, hockey up north, lacrosse may sprout up)

Been to a Seattle Sounders game and my statement still stands

What other sport has had to play games in empty coliseums because of fan behavior...

I am not sure Soccer is any bigger in the south than it is anywhere else in the country. Soccer has pretty big pockets of fans in California, the Midwest and northeast

Soccer is the most boring sport to watch.

ETA

It isn't a sport. It is exercise with a ball.

I can appreciate the skill of world class soccer players handling the ball with their feet as much as hockey players with a puck. Watching soccer or hockey for me would be like watching the NBA guys shoot at 100' high backboards. Too much fail time for me to stay excited.

Maybe if you don't have a team to actively root for. I could NEVER get into soccer as a sport to just casually watch on TV until ATL got a team and now it's enthralling. Especially live, it's a whole different animal being there in person.

Soccer. Once you learn it, it's fun to watch. And for those who think it's too low scoring, if you only got one point for a touchdown, football scores would be much lower.

I took in a couple of professional rugby games in Europe years ago. That was not bad at all. I would enjoy seeing more of it here.

Opposable thumbs and the ability to efficiently use our hands is what separates us from (most) wild animals. Soccer takes that away, and humanity devolves.

If I wanted to watch a bunch of guys running around hopelessly trying to score for however long a soccer game lasts, it would be more entertaining to watch a bunch of idiots chasing tail at a bar. These, of course, are just my opinions, and they are not endorsed by TD.
