lol, sure. You want to underestimate just how evil the folks in Austin are and how badly they will screw you over and not think twice go ahead. SEC schools have no clue just how good they have it. It took a monumental effort with a lot of risk for A&M to finally rid ourselves of them and if you think that that the other SEC schools can control them if they join you are a fool. Oh, and OU is their lackey and does whatever Texas tells them to do.
You simply don't understand how they work because you think a school like Bama is powerful and evil, Bama only has power in football and even then it is limited. Texas has power in everything and they don't share.
If Texas joins within 5 years they will be trying to push out schools they see as a drag on them and they will punish anyone that gets in their way. People forget that Nebraska used to be like Bama until Texas slowly destroyed them. First they passed the Prop 48 rule. Then they ate away at their power and bought off the other Big 8 schools starting with OU. They even used their connections in the AAU to get them kicked out and humble them academically. Now NU is just an also ran in the middle/back of the B1G. Then look at SMU. Or Rice. Or Houston. If you think this is some Aggie paranoia you do so at your own peril. We have money and resources and enough political power to fight back even though it's not what we want. LSU? Mississippi State? Ole Miss? Even Auburn? They will destroy you and you won't be able to stop them.
Realize A&M has the 2nd Largest Endowment of any Public University at almost $14 Billion. Texas has over $30 Billion and growing. The interest off of that is larger than the endowment of most of the schools in the SEC, take away A&M and Texas has more money than the rest of the SEC Combined and Doubled. They also have the largest AD and they have deep connections in the media and the NCAA. The bigger problem is that as much power as they have it doesn't measure up to their perception of themselves. They don't see anyone as a peer and they have no remorse in destroying anyone that is merely a nuisance to them much less a threat. They did everything they could to try and stop A&M and it took every bit of power we had to leave them.
The devil gives out better deals than Texas.

I get you experienced an extreme amount of Texas bias while in the Big 12, but that simply won't happen in the SEC. Seriously, do you think Bama, UGA, LSU, FL, etc. will just roll over for a university that's been largely irrelevant for over a decade in the most popular revenue driving sport? Speaking of which, if they have so much power, why have they been mediocre at best in football since the days of Vince Young?
Regarding the NCAA, this is yet another major step in the destruction of that organization. Super-conferences, along with the NIL domino that just fell, will push the NCAA the direction of being an organization that runs a basketball tournament every year.

Oklahoma is trapped and bought off. They tried to leave when we did but couldn't. They are not an AAU school and they have an OSU problem. They begged the Pac and ACC to take them and got turned down. Texas used them to help destroy Nebraska and their reward is they get to be part of the Big 2, so long as they do everything Texas wants.
You really don't comprehend how powerful and evil they are. Been dealing with them for decades, it's almost sad how foolish some of you folks are when you think you can control Texas.

When Scott Satterfield lost his mind over Kentucky doing the L’s down thing, he just got laughed at and made fun of. Even Louisville fans thought it a bitch move. Surely someone in that program is self-respecting enough to tell everyone to shut up about it and deal with it.
