A one dimensional offense will not work in the SEC. It never has (modern era obviously) and it likely never will, this isn't the big 12

Isn't Bray still drawing up plays in the dirt with bottle caps and shite?

it goes both ways.
I probably don't have to go far, to read a post by you creaming yourself over your JUCO DT last year.
We have reason to be excited over the number 1 JUCO prospect in the country, per 247.

Are we even sure Patterson is getting in? This is UT, and what can go wrong, will go wrong.
And Patterson is a pretty darn good JUCO prospect. Some serious speed at 6'3. And it looks he can catch, I don't really care if he does it well, but he should be open with Hunter and Rogers.

The defense last year was pretty much like it was in 2008.
There was no real problems, but the shitty offense couldn't keep them off the field.
In regards to this year's Defense: I think we'll give up some plays that we didn't last year, simply because of the transition to the 3-4. It won't be smooth sailing, by any means, but by season's end we should understand it.

Can Tennessee run the ball?

Of course you have reason to be excited, anybody would be. But your fanbase is already claiming he's a first round draft pick which is ridiculous.
And as for Jenkins, the situations are entirely different. In 2010 that was a key cog that we were missing from the 3-4, we simply didn't have a nose guard which is essential. When we got him committed, it was in essence the final piece of the puzzle to take our defense to the next level. Not so with UT, since you already have 2 other 1st rounders. And even still, nobody was saying, before he ever played, he was going to be this or that, we were just hoping he would plug the middle.

There's this theory out there that Tennessee's defense was the problem last year. I don't really know where it started, but it's false.

Stephen Hill was tall and fast, and that worked out for him despite not showing much in college. Patterson has been electronically timed as fast already. I'm not claiming he's a first rounder, but at 6'3 with a 10.33 100m he's got a solid start.

Which SEC game did we have Patterson, Hunters, Rogers, and Bray.
It doesn't matter if the 4 of them were in a SEC game together or not. You're hanging your hat on them beating a Cincy team that ranked 48th in the country in yards allowed per game. There were only two SEC teams you played that ranked lower, Vandy at 50 and UK at 57 (SEC averaged to 18 and had #'s 1,2,3,4, and 9). Do you really think you would have done that much better in SEC play?

You do realize that Stephen Hill went in the mid 2nd round right?

Hunter was the most important player on the team last year. UT would have been much better off if Rogers went down instead of Hunter. When Hunter went down, UT lost a receiver that could stretch the field so most teams would put an extra safety in the box. Darick is a very good receiver, but he is overrated by most vol fans. Without losing Hunter, UT wins 8 games.

A team with that kind of offensive talent can basically score at will, against anyone.
i don't see bama or LSU giving up gobs of points to you regardless of those 3.

Yes. Not much of a difference to me for this argument. He was projected as high as the early 20s from combine to draft. Not like he pulled a Burfict.

DGB > any player at Tennessee.

Well based on that Xavier Carter should've been the overall #1.

I think you lose either Da'Rick or Hunter last year and it's the same result. Double teams and Zach Rogers as your #2. That's not working for any team. If we can run out a steady flow of Hunter-Da'Rick-Patterson with no Z. Rogers, I will be happy all year (if Bray stays healthy).
