If Tennessee is the 2nd best program in the SEC,shouldn't they be able to attract a proven

head coach? Obviously not Gruden. Not then, not now, not ever, but how many head coaches turned them down before they had to turn to assistant coaches?

The obvious answer to the original question is that they aren't the 2nd best program as so many of them like to think they are. Hell, Arkansas was able to attract a proven head coach, and Texas A&M got one that has won a national title. Tennessee just can not.

It's all a crapshoot. UT could have hired Leach and have his offense be ill-suited for the SEC.
