If State parts ways with Moorhead

the best realistic hire they can make is Shane Beamer, the assistant head coach at Oklahoma.
He has P5 experience coaching offense, defense and special teams. Had stints at South Carolina under Spurrier and MSU under Mullen. Even met and married an MSU girl while he was in Starkville. His father in law is the current police chief in Starkville so no surprise arrests!
State would have a realistic shot at him and he will be a successful P5 coach soon. We should make our move. Let Rutgers hire Moorhead and hire Beamer and try to recreate the Mullen magic.

I don’t know enough to comment. I usually root for retread hires. I know it’ll get blasted as absurd, but I don’t see why Les Miles couldn’t pull a Jackie Sherrill at State. If he would come here from Kansas.

The guy has never even been a coordinator. If his last name wasn't Beamer nobody outside of fans of the teams he's been on staff with would even know who he was.

Bill Clark will be a great hire for whoever gets him. The guy is a very good coach and who I wished we would have hired instead of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.
