If Saban is such a good coach, why has he lost to Gus TWICE?

I know he lost to Croom but that was in 07 so it doesn't really count.
Gus is a below average coach, legitimately the worst coach in the West and maybe the worst coach in the entire conference. And Saban has lost to him twice

"IF" saban is such a good coach? Saban's career record as a college head coach is 226-62–1. I can't stand the dude, but at least accept reality sometimes.
