It's cute, but is he even the best big man in the league this year?

Well, who is?
I’ll sit back and wait.

He’s been great this year. If there was a Most Improved Player award for college he’d be my choice. I don’t think anyone at UK thinks or expects him to win NPOY but this is kind of a salute to him staying the course and working hard to the player he is today when so many kids nowadays leave early ready or not.

Who’s better?

Maik Kotsar and Nick Richards are very close to equal imho. Kotsar is not better, they're very much about the same. Kotsar actually has had a great second half of the season. Kotsar goes to the basket with either hand better than Richards. Kotsar has the better 15 footer which he takes quite a bit but which also takes away from his shooting percentage a bit while Richards is all about dominating underneath the basket and going to the hole.
Both kids are foreigners, had different kinda upbringings, had to overcome some things early.
Kotsar will make an NBA roster. Right now he's a year ahead of Richards. Kotsar was hurt the last time they faced one another. I suspect they'll get to face one another again in the post season. We'll see how it turns out.
I like Richards a lot. Nice kid.
At 6-11 270 and with his ability to move, dribble, pull up, muscle down low .... Kotsar is as good as Richards and might be better if he had Richards supporting cast.
Kotsar knows how to dish, how to defend, and he's just more physical than Richards is at this stage.
ETA: It's just mho. Didn't mean to trigger any of you Cat fans.

Not triggered by any stretch. But stating he is more physical is kind of silly. The man averages more points, rebounds, and blocks. He is also the best player on a much better team. And Kotsar wasn’t hurt the last time they played. He fouled out. Kotsar is solid and as an SC fan, I take no issue with your preference of him.
But he isn’t more physical.

Perry and Richards is a toss up imo. I would probably lean towards Perry but Richards is obviously on the better team.

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought SC beat Kentucky the last time they faced off?
And yes, Kotsar was hurt. He fouled out inside of 10 or 12 minutes because of his injury .... he really shouldn't have been playing.
It's really neither here nor there, it's all subjective. Kotsar averages more assists, more steals and he's more disruptive outside of the restricted area imho. You really need to watch and pay attention to Kotsar if you do not see my point about him being the more physical of the two.
Perry has now been mentioned and no doubt, he is very good too.

Richards out played Perry when they both met. In fact, Perry had a shitty game vs UK.
Lulz on Kotsar....he shouldn’t even be in the discussion.

Nick Richards' last three games: 13.7 PPG, 6.7 RPG, 3.7 BPG.
Nick clearly has a better FG%. Shooting close to 66% is pretty stout. Also Nick is shooting over 75% at the FT line which is incredible (have to give Perry credit on the FT line for 75%).
I’ll throw in Anthony Davis stats for shits and giggles to compare Nick vs Davis..
