Just the one more in ‘11. LSU’s recruiting didn’t really deteriorate after Saban got to Alabama, and almost every year Les lost 2-4 games.

Les’s best class actually came in Spring ‘09 after Saban beat him for the first time.

I don’t think Auburn ever wins one without Saban at Bama. Tubbs probably doesn’t rush into the Tony Franklin experiment, and they hold onto him for too long.

Because of that Arkansas wins the league in 2010.

UGA wins one in ‘12 and keeps Richt. They’d probably be in the same shape now just without the 1980 jokes.

Ole Miss makes Atlanta under Nutt.

And the biggest question is how well does Urban do staying at UF after winning 3 of 4 from ‘06-‘09?

The better question to ask would be how many SEC and National Championships would the Tigers have by now if Nick had never left LSU for the Dolphins?

He had to have every team in the world lose in order to back into the only 2 loss champ ever in the modern era.

I’m not so sure LSU would have kept Saban all these years. Somebody would have opened up the pocketbook and scooped up Saban.

Look buddy I know losing to ULM probably caused a great deal of ptsd, but the 2007 season was like no other. LSU came out on top. The end.

It's easy to do what Saban is doing when you just have that much more talent than everyone else at the college level.

If he was this great coach than why was he average in the NFL - probably because that autocratic style works on the college superstar who wants to be a millionaire one day, they will listen and do whatever Nicky tells them. Mix that style with NFL millionaires and it doesn't work and he was average with similar talent as all other nfl teams. Everyone says getting Brees would have changed things but would it have? No way Saban would have run the offense that Payton was running at that time. Would he have adapted in NFL, most likely yes but even things out and he's an average NFL coach.

Same thing with Belichick, it's easy to do it when you have a 20 year run with Brady and you have management in that organization that made so many personnel moves to help along with great drafting and stockpiling picks. Let's see if he ever gets back to a Super Bowl without Brady.

Solid point there. LSU would have won in 2011 but 2012-2016 would probably about the same, except for wins against Bama.

Does Les still get fired in 2016? Does O become head coach? Does 2019 still happen?

The sexual assault scandal would have got Miles fired for sure and no way the student worker harassment would have stayed that quiet.

More importantly, just think about how many coaches' lives have been ruined as a result of Saban's domination

Those teams that were on the cusp on playing for a title and didn't because of Saint Nick. Now they are no names that everyone has forgotten about. Lester Miles included.

This is a very bad take. Talent management is only one part of the equation. A massive one. But still only one part. If it were that easy than Kirby would have a national championship by now. Saban also beat Meyer with less talent on his roster in 09.

An even worse take. There’s nothing easy about winning 6 Super Bowls, especially given the fact that the first 3 with Brady were largely due to the Patriots veteran defense. They held the greatest Show on Turf to 17 points (3 points going into the 4th quarter). He also won 2 Super Bowls as a DC for the Giants. His defensive game plan for their upset against the Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl XXV is on display in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This is a laughably bad opinion.

The rec and the Bummingham orifice would've found a way to keep LSU from achieving a dynasty. It's what they do.

LSU would have won a few more, but I think Georgia would have also won one or two. Richt might still be at UGA. That is the wildest part of it all.

It must be painful to think LSU would have had the greatest dynasty of all time, and still going on today, I feel for you
