If LSU isn’t ranked so far below Kentucky because of SOS, then what is it?

LSU strength of schedule =19
UK strength of schedule = 17
So, what is it Because having a 2 better SOS ain’t a reason that UK is a projected 1 seed while LSU are a projected 4 seed by the AP poll, with the same overall record, a worse conference record, and a head to head loss

Kentucky always gets favorable treatment. It is what it is

Because of your losses to Houston and Oklahoma state and lack of good OOC wins
We beat Kansas and UNC, both of which are blue blood programs. What big OOC win do you all have?

Kentucky has wins over UNC, Louisville, Kansas and Tennessee, all teams in the committee's top 16. LSU has only one so far though they can obviously get another Saturday.

No blue bloods will play us. Obviously y’all played some cupcakes for the rest of OOC since your SOS is only 2 off of ours, so I think it balances out

It’s like Alabama in football. You have to deal with it.

Probably because most people saw Kentucky beat LSU and LSU get bailed out by a bad call.

Blue Wildcat Club. The REC's doppelganger in Lexington.

1) UK has better wins.
2) LSU has worse losses.
3) Poll inertia.

That's not our fault.

And you appear to have some on your schedule as well.
Difference being of course, we won in most of our big games, LSU lost to Oklahoma State, Housten, and Florida State. We beat UNC, Kansas, Louisville, and now Tennessee
Suffice to say, our highs are much better than yours, as such we are viewed in a better light

I don't buy this. Tennessee has gotten home and homes with UNC and Kansas very recently.

What? Even if that was called, which upon review the basket would have been awarded because of shaking the rim and backboard, Kentucky would have still been tied with LSU, after being dominated the second half. Not sure how that is a “win” for Kentucky. The game would have gone to OT. UK doesn’t just automatically win

Don’t know if you know this but LSU was pretty bottom of the barrel in terms of basket ball for the last few years until kind of last year and rally this year. No one would have wanted to play us because we were projected 6 in SEC, meanwhile y’all were projected 2nd. Much easier to get games that way

The loss to Houston doesn't hurt much but the loss to Okie State is just abysmal. They are wretched this year.

Honestly, who cares? Just keep winning.

Why did LSU finish 6 spots ahead of Kentucky and get a NY6 bowl despite having the same record and Kentucky doing better against mutual opponents?
Take your answer to that situation and apply it to this one.

Well because Kentucky didn’t play Alabama or beat Georgia silly. That’s the whole SOS thing. In the basketball case, the SOS are close. In the football case you wrongfully mentioned, they aren’t. LSU was top 5 in SOS in football.

I upvoted. This thread was pretty reactionary and if we lose to Tenn Saturday, none of it will matter

Tennessee was projected 13th the year our H&H with UNC started and 5th the year our H&H with Kansas started.
You have to play brand name teams every year no matter how good you are supposed to be. These coaches aren't just going to pick up and play you the year everything comes together. Tennessee has only made 4 NCAA Tourneys in the last 10 years and in that timeframe has played regular season games against Kansas x3, Purdue x2, Memphis x6, USC x2, Villanova x2, Pitt x2, Duke, UConn x2, Virginia x2, GTown x2, Wichita x2, Xavier x2, Butler x2, Gonzaga x 5, Wisconsin x3, UNC x3, Oregon, Louisville.
