SB4 would be my leader right now. He has done everything asked of him and then some. Other than Will Anderson, Brock Bowers and couple of other guys who have no shot at the Heisman, Stetson is the best player in football right now. I don't see the big deal with CJ Stroud and honestly our O line will probably get Bryce killed before the season is over. At this point I think this is Stets trophy to lose.

Remember when Leonard Fournette was a lock for the Heisman towards the end of the 2015 season?

Combined with a story that far surpasses that of Rudys, who was offside on his only play....

His to lose... As the Mouse gets the hype machine started.

If you were you would have lost any respect and credibility a long time ago.

The heisman is a joke……..

And this comment is not about Bennett, it’s about what the honor has become, a popularity contest.

I have to upvote you. But also point out that SB is already one of the leading candidates. Yesterday, he was sitting one spot ahead of Anderson(who scored a defensive td) and one spot below Young according to Vegas oddsmakers.

I now see how the SEC will piss off the country in a new way...

We get all 3 Heisman finalists (SB4, Will Anderson, and Bryce Young), and we run the Alabama-Georgia CFP Title game back for the rubber match.

I agree about Stetson. He won't though. It's like Jay Barker or AJ McCarron. he puts up numbers, he wins but he's not wowing you with his play. Today the heisman voter has to have that guy that wows you.
CJ Stroud is the leader but I have a feeling somebody is gonna "break out" that we don't see yet and wow the voters.

The heisman committee/ESPN will promptly expand the finalists to 12 so every conference is repped.

I bet 25 on Stetson Bennett to win 2,000 right before the season started, so I hope you're right.

2016 Auburn remembers.

How many extra games did the Heisman winner have to play to catch up statistically?

I don’t think Stetson will win the Heisman either, but this comparison still makes no sense. So far Stet has been way better than they ever were

In their best years:

1994 Barker
- 154 YPG
- 8.8 YPA
- 1.25 TD per game
- 0.4 INT per game

2012 McCarron
- 209 YPG
- 9.1 YPA
- 2.2 TD per game
- 0.2 INT per game

2022 Stetson
- 328 YPG
- 10.8 YPA
- 2.7 TD per game
- 0 INT per game

I mean….come on.

I think SB is getting the respect he deserves. He is number 4 and probably rising on the Heisman trail, and is getting the attention of nfl scouts as well. He is surely better than Jay Barker, Stallings didn't believe in passing much, and Barker was never going to be a stat qb, and the only elite thing about him was protecting the ball and not turning it over. But your stats are misleading right now because in 2022 SB hasn't faced a good defense yet. The only stat comparison between AJ and SB that will matter will be rings won as a starter, anyway.
