Then Johnny Football shouldn't be able to win the Heisman as a freshman. Matter of fact, no freshman should win the Heisman if HW34 didn't.

He won't get the votes even if he puts up bigger numbers than Cam Newton did.

HERE'S MY FAVORITE STATISTIC OF ALL TIME: IN THE 1981 SUGAR BOWL, ON plays when Herschel Walker did not run the ball, Georgia combined for -23 yards. The box score looks like a mistake: Herschel had 150 yards, but Georgia's total offense came to just 127. Herschel could outrun arithmetic.

No one should make "living in the past" comments about this. This is 100% accurate. Herschel was a fricking force as a freshman. A true freshman. He was the first freshman to be a 1st team AA. Arguably the greatest running back in CFB history.

JFF is great, but he is no Herschel Walker.

The turn-in date for the ballots cost Walker as he still had the Georgia tech game left to play. That and maybe a bad game against Auburn.

So because the Heisman system was flawed decades ago, we must continue to perpetuate a flawed system? The logic here is retarded.
