If Dan Mullen stays in Starkville, State probably wins 10 regular season games next year.

They have pretty much everyone coming back from this current team and they trade Georgia for a rebuilding Florida. They will curb stomp LSU, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and A&M. I really only see them losing to Auburn and Alabama. If Mullen goes to Tennessee, it will be a long time before he wins 10 regular season games, if ever.

What year is Fitzgerald? If he stays, they could compete for second in the West

He will be a senior next year, and the guy who is sitting on the bench is much better.

We have auburn in Starkville next year we could win that one as well.
Can't ever tell how good auburn will be they are so inconsistent year to year.

Mullen will probably pull in a ten win season after a bowl win and O lost to Troy with a plethora of 4 and 5 star talent. Really an easy call here.

Scared he may go to Tennessee eh?

This is exactly why I am not worried about him leaving. Everything he’s worked for his first nine years will come to fruition next year.
Add in the best recruiting class in state of Mississippi history in ‘19 and the NCAA going in for the kill next week and it’s a perfect situation that he’d be mad to leave.

Oh, I definitely don't want him to go to Tennessee. I'm not hiding that at all. But if I'm being honest, I think State is currently a better job than Tennessee also. I wouldn't leave if I was him. Not for Tennessee at least.

State is setup for success for the next few years. If State had a defense last year, State could had 8 wins or more. Thompson has a better upside than Fitz especially throwing the ball. After Thompson, Mayden will be next in line.

People that follow State causally just don't get it, but we are set up for a few years of success.
1. We are looking at a 9-10 win season and a chance to finish in the top 10 nationally this year.
2. We will return 18-20 starters next year, including our entire starting backfield and defensive front 7.
3. We are primed to have a top 15 recruiting class this year - the top eight players in MS are committed to MSU.
4. All this is happening while Ole Miss is staring down the barrel of NCAA probation.
5. The 2019 high school class in Mississippi is loaded and is leaning MSU. If we dominate the 19 class the way we dominated the 18 class, we'll have a top five national class.
6. Again, all this is happening while Ole Miss is in shambles.

The ways things are going, we may beat LSU by 60 next year.

Your injured starting QB and your backup will be playing for different schools next year.
