That would mean 6 of the last 13 winners (2007-2019) came from the SEC. For comparison, only 1 player from 1986-2006 (21 seasons) came from the SEC and only 7 players from 1935-2006 (72 seasons) came from the SEC.

We really are living in the golden age of SEC football. Congrats to Burrow, he is an incredible player, and certainly deserves the award if it was given today. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a QB improve as much from one season to the next.

That face when you realize that the only people on that list to have won a national title are from schools in Alabama

Yikes

That face when you realize the best QB in Alabama’s history only wins some Gillette award

A shame he never won the award, but the fact that he was beaten out by another SEC player in a season in which a separate SEC team won the national title just demonstrates how strong the SEC has been.

At this point unless he just gets hurt and can’t play in games he has to be just about a lock to win this thing.

Is anyone else really that close?

College football history before widespread national broadcasts is shaped by Northern writers ignoring Southern football

Should be a bunch more Heisman winners from tSEC. And Bama should probably have about 40 Natties

Joe Burrow is one of the more complete college Qb's I've ever seen.
He's got all the qualities you look for in a winning Qb. Confidence, mobility, poise, team leader, & toughness.
He's a great example to kids of a guy who persevered through tough times, didn't quit, & now on top of the college football world.
I hope he wins the Heisman, continues his magnificent season in Atlanta & the playoffs.
