If any of you browse r/CFB you’ve probably seen this. The idea is to have an SECRant community simulated college football season. Every couple days I would post a link to a Google form for everyone to make their picks for whichever weeks set of games we’re on

How the simulation works is fairly simple: Each week, you, the voters, vote for the team that you believe will win each game (every FBS game will be voted on in each form). The results of the voting will help determine the outcome of the simulation. Once each game’s result has been decided, we will move on to the next week, eventually simulating an entire season and determining a national champion. For example, if Vanderbilt loses to Georgia in Week 1, they will be listed as 0-1 when they play Purdue in Week 2, and so forth.

However, the direct results of the vote do not determine who wins each game. The votes will actually be used to determine the probability that each team wins the game. For example, if 90% of voters predict that Georgia will beat Vanderbilt, then Georgia will have a 90% chance of beating Vanderbilt. A Random Number Generator will be used to choose a random number 1-1000, and that integer will determine the winner of the game. In this example, if the integer is <900, Georgia would win the game, whereas if the integer was >900, Vanderbilt would pull the upset. The closer the integer is to the dividing line also determines how close the games was. For example, if the integer was 25, Georgia would have destroyed Vandy, whereas if the integer was 901, Vanderbilt would have squeaked by in a nail-biter.

Ideally, if you guys seem interested in this I would post each new week every couple of days. Also, I would post a spreadsheet with conference standings updated after every week and also team by team results.

I’ll let this thread sit for a day or so and judging by the interest I’ll have a poll posted soon for everyone to pick the Week 1 games
