Damn son you're really going overboard now.

I don't believe this was Mason's call. I believe this came from above him.

correct

it's amazing - Mizzou a few years ago had that false flag incident thrust on them and responded so badly

But Vandy actually just created their own mess here. Things were bad with not winning, and then some chaos agent within their sphere just thought, hey, let's make things a hundred times worse.

she did exactly what the asked hee to do most likely so she wouldn't get hit. It's all not that big of a deal to me at all either way.

But you see this is why it’s such a big deal. She didn’t try out for team and beat out other players. She didn’t earn any of this. She gets a media given award for kicker of the week when she made one squib kick that was inconsequential to the game and did so so that she couldn’t get run over and hurt. Again that’s completely against the grain of what the intent of having her out there should be. If you’re truly trying to promote gender equality then she should have to abide by the same expectations as every other kicker. Make kickers don’t get to kick and run to sideline so they didn’t get hurt they’re the last line of defense. How many 160lb kickers have we seen have to stick their head in to slow a returner down. She can’t do that or at the very least wasn’t allowed the opportunity. This goes against the very idea that they were falsely trying to portray. It was a sham and either she doesn’t realize she was being used as a publicity stunt for a crappy football team OR she does is complicit and doesn’t care herself about true equality, she just wanted 15 minutes of fame. It sounds though after her post game interview that she is delusional at best. There was nothing about that performance that screamed hey girls you can play football too if you want. All that happened is she was given an opportunity no t earned over other players that had to work to earn their spot.

Let's say you were out sick and got replaced on your job by someone based upon skin color or sex...and not because they could do the job. They then proved they could not do the job, and instead of bringing you back when you were well, they kept the other person and told you you were fired. Would that bother you?

Of course, but we aren't talking about me. We are talking about the kicker at Vanderbilt. I'm sure of that did happen to me the kicker at Vanderbilt wouldn't care about that happening to me either.

This Vandy situation is a microcosm of the horseshite that is happening more and more in society though. That's why this board is talking about it so much.

Giving people stuff they don't earn or deserve just because of the color of their skin or what's between their legs is a huge problem. It shows me that decision makers don't care about bringing in the best people for the job and would rather be able to point to how woke they are and score points on social media.

Great post and I understand your point. I guess the way I'm seeing this one circumstance is that it is more than likely an anomaly in our little world of college football so it's not registering as much with me either way. If it begins to happen more often my opinion would certainly change. Thanks for the response though.

It may be an anomaly (for now) in college football, but these anomalies are happening way, way too often in society as a whole. Diversity for the sake of diversity is and always has been a bad thing because it is forced. Decision makers need to bring in the best people for the job, regardless of gender (there are only two of these) or skin color. If they all happen to be white men, so be it. If they all happen to be black women, so be it.

But it did happen to the regular kicker at Vanderbilt.

And if it happened to him, it could certainly happen to you at your job. There are all kinds of injustices happening in the world, and if they are not stopped they will continue and grow. I am not talking about perceived injustices, but very real ones.

My point? If you do not care about others, then others will not care about you.
