I think I'm past the anger stage, and have reached apathy

It's weird. I only felt like this about the Vols one other time in my life, Dooley's final season. I think I watched most of the games, but can't remember a single moment of any of them after Justin Hunter's injury against Florida.

But to be fair, during Dooley's final season, I was going through a divorce and owed a shitload of money to the IRS. I had bigger problems.

Is this how Kentucky fans usually feel in November?

Now that you are in a stage of learned helplessness, Lyle can finally be fired.

I can only imagine how you guys feel. I've been pretty pissed myself and AU hasn't fallen to the level of UT...yet.

Good news is you will have a new coach next year. Think they are just waiting on the season to end. JMO

Dude, you're a rank amateur in the fan futility game. Walk a mile in my pro-keds.

I kind of know how you feel. I lived through Mike Dubose and a 3 win season despite having top 10 talent. I saw crippling sanctions and what we thought was an elite coach leave us for another school because of how bad they were. I watched Mike Shula struggle and fielding teams made up with mostly 2 and 3 star players and had to see Tuberville raise his fingers in the air.

We deserved Nick Saban after that decade. Dubose was coach during my time going to school. I hope you get somebody better than Butch but I hope it isn't the next Nick Saban.

Yes and no. There's typically two modes:
1.sadness but acceptance as well that the football team sucked again
2. Frick it, it's time for basketball season!
This November though there's still positivity around the team, like last year.

That decade still had 3 10 win seasons and an SEC title. Alabama has never experienced what every other school in the conference has, at one point. And at an Alabama fan saying they "deserved" what Saban has brought the program. Seriously? It's like the richest kid in school saying he sympathizes with the guy that has 200k in student loans because his dad made him get a summer job one year instead of giving him an allowance.

I feel ya man.....I too remember the darkest days of Dubose and the Two Mikes when it seemed like it would ever end.

Then we hired Saban and I forgot all about it.

Last season did this to me, I had a little hope until the UF game this year and then went back into "whatever" mode.

Been there for a while... apathy leads to loss of revenue and eventual firing though right?
