Big 12 Rivalries are filled with hatred for one another. I honestly don't feel the same level of hate towards other SEC teams that I felt towards Baylor, Texas, Texas Tech, OSU, and OU growing up in College Station. And I think I've finally realized why.

Respect.

I actually have respect for nearly every school in this conference. Which is why I'll root for the SEC in bowl games. Back in the Big 12, I would take great pleasure in seeing our rivals lose to OOC opponents. Not so much here. The grass is much greener on so many different levels.

That’s because we aren’t your rival.

We have our rivals. We hate them. We feel sorry for you.

The new guy doesn't come in hating everyone.

It's similar to us. The only school I'd say our fanbase really has any huge animosity towards is Georgia because we played them a lot before joining

And I still wouldn't call them a rival.

I do. They have had a lot of recent football success, and how Saban elevated their program is EXACTLY what us Aggies hope Jimbo will do for us.

They are a better measuring stick than the damn Longhorns, that is for sure.

Same, the fan bases here are much tamer toward fans of other schools overall

A hell of a lot more than I respect any team from the former Big 12 South.

Holy shite, I think you just earned an honorary degree from MiZzzou with that post.

Seriously, though. Almost half of our schedule are fierce rivalry games. WLOCP, DSOR, COFH, Tennessee when they field a team. USCjr, when they were coached by Spurrier.

All of your rivalries were in the Big XII. You can't manufacture SEC hatred.

No, but we can buy it one LSU coaching target at a time.

I don't hate Texas A@M. But I don't respect them either. They got lucky 1 time aginst us with Manzel. Other than that Manzel game aginst us I can't think of any game that they won that was something. They pretty much a disappoiment every year since coming to the SEC.

That's it? Not the great traditions? The great stadiums? The unrivaled tailgating? The fact that instead of travelling to bumfrick Waco, Lubbock, Stillwater, Lawrence, Aimes, Ft. Worth, and so on you are getting to go to Athens, Oxford, Knoxville, Tuscaloosa, Lexington, Auburn, Columbia, Baton Rouge, etc...

I've been to a decent amount of Big 12 games. The whole atmosphere and entire experience is so second-rate compared to the SEC it's unreal.

What's crazy is how places like ND, Michigan, Ohio State, USC, Texas are all Blue Bloods and traditional powers and obviously hyped up by the media, but when you go to a game there it's pretty meh compared to your typical SEC saturday. People here just care more, get more creative with how they represent themselves, tailgate, etc... It's a different animal down south. People here literally breath it year round.
