What I am insinuating is that typically in a time of “national emegency” the national championship winning football coach is not the first choice for news networks in covering the topic at hand.

Fair enough. But I don't think Coach O is the ""only"" celebrity or well-known professional that was asked to do these. It's not like he is THE ONLY ONE - The national face of prevention. There have been many other people doing these public service announcements.

And it seemed to be an "argument" to you because of the tone of your OP.

Doubtful.

This won't affect football. MLB is only looking at a delay.

Even the most pessimistic projections have this going until June. Vaccines will be approved by then.

Look to S. Korea where this is levelled off.

People are taking something that is probably a 6-week event and trying to drag this into the Fall. It won't.

I think this is all an overreaction. But given the extremeness of all this, this won't be near the levels people think.

Football practice doesn't start until August ya dunce. Just join in mourning over our missing 1 billion dollar hoops tournament and quit trying to bring your problems to us.

I hope this thing dies down some with all these precautions being taken, but if you told me a few weeks backs that this would cause the cancellation of
March Madness
NBA
or hell even cause Wrestlemania to be held in the performance center

I would have said "NO CHANCE IN HELL". I hope it doesn't affect college football but you have to admit there is a high chance it could!

I believe all this quarantine and lockdown is going to soothe things a bit. but we are probably looking at June the earliest before folks are back to some normalcy

Fall camp doesn't start until August. Spring practice won't happen, but the season will start as usual.

We won’t get a baseball or football season this year. Might get a basketball season

I hate to pee on your optimism but there has never been a vaccine for a coronavirus.

Right. I watched a news report today about remdesevir. It was given to a man in Washington who was severely affected by the virus and he began to recover within 48 hours.

If people will heed the warnings and use good sanitary sense, maybe we'll get through this by late summer. Ya think?

Practice won’t get started until June at the earliest. I expect the schedule to be condensed to conference games only and not kick off until October.

I think you may be on to something, Goldtide..

Doubt it. In a month this will be gone practice spring, have summer workouts in July and resume as normal.

I’m sure all teams are probably still practicing
A vaccine is 6 months to a year away.

Consider the source but CNN just released a report from someone that this pandemic will last for 18months at least. Not may but will. Report says it will go in waves as well as the restrictions we are currently undergoing.

Simply cant happen. Not that we wont be fighting the virus that long but we simply cannot shut down like this for 18 months. That would be the end of things as we know it.
