I think football season will be shortened...

Practice won’t get started until June at the earliest. I expect the schedule to be condensed to conference games only and not kick off until October.
And why am I seeing Ed O on Fox News giving analysis on this virus and instructing me on how to sneeze and cough? Out of all the people they could of gotten...
Edit: a-day games were just cancelled

Doubt it. In a month this will be gone practice spring, have summer workouts in July and resume as normal.
I’m sure all teams are probably still practicing

I don't think they are or will be able to. Especially if dorms/campuses are closed. Summer practice is the best we can hope for at this point.

He is your National Champion sir....support him and bend the knee!

Do you think because teams can’t practice officially they don’t?
The summer is voluntary workouts but yet every member is there.
You could do the same now, depending on if the team is on campus. It’s not 100 percent the same but it could be done.
Either way football isn’t going to be canceled or moved back even by over reaction Sankey

LSU has said campus housing would still be in place, but I don’t know if everyone left. If they didn’t you could have position groups working out.

Once again, do you live under a rock?

Sorry to link to this cesspool, but it seemed the most relevant.
Alabama Football SEC extends ban on games, spring football practice into April
There may be some position groups still practicing together, but spring practice as a whole is done.
I know a lot of schools have closed on-campus housing.

SEC moved the date to April 15 today.
I think we are increasingly likely looking at a late start to the season.
My hope is we don't lose games over it and everything just gets moved back because, hey, it's a fricked up year so we deserve football.

Yeah, I don't think he gets it. You cant even go out to eat in Louisiana now. Not that it has a lot to do with football, bit it shows where we are now

"Yeah and no fricking way a stupid virus will cancel the biggest sporting event of the year"
-Everyone, like a week ago
I'm not freaking out about this thing, but you and I have no influence over the people that make these decisions

Because his is the most recognizable and respected name in college football. Everybody likes him. Or it could be that maybe, just maybe mind you, people with deep voices occasionally do sneeze.....
If nick s would have won the NC and COTY, don't you think he may have been offered bucks to do it?.....
Oh wait..........

I wasn’t even going to respond your response in my other thread because it’s so stupid but since you’ve followed me over into this one too I’ll go ahead and waste the next 30 seconds explaining it to you.
You’re not even countering an argument I’ve even made. Where in either post am I insinuating Ed Orgeron shouldn’t have accepted the money to do it? What I am insinuating is that typically in a time of “national emegency” the national championship winning football coach is not the first choice for news networks in covering the topic at hand. Not a slam on Orgeron. Quit looking for an argument where there isn’t one.

some states that already have high cases may not even participate, if new York keeps climbing Rutgers and Syracuse probably wont even field a team

I am hoping against hope that somehow we can get this thing under control before fall practice starts in mid-August, which would allow the season to still be played.
But I'm not holding my breath (no pun intended)...
Rescheduling/postponing games would be a total nightmare.

None of the news networks are going to responsible choices for covering the topic at hand.
Fox News is just trying to be likeable to cover for some of their irresponsible reporting early on in this event.
These network news companies are still huge businesses and they are gonna do what's best for them.
Don't watch them if you want actual good coverage and advice.
