But then we won the Natty a few weeks later so it all worked out in the end! Some dude named Donte Jones had like 35 in the first half. Never seen a performance like it before or since.

No way that performance could be duplicated today with the way officiating is done. This game was so much more fun back then.

If I recall correctly, Donte Jones cut his teeth in the Memphis midnight basketball league. I’m pretty sure he never attended a day of school in his life. But he could ball.
