Miles is probably #2, but I wouldn't say that's a given. It is a given that he is top 4, however. So yeah, this list is pretty flawed

Why do you have Sumlin a head of Miles? Miles beat him on his home turf. The same aTm team that blew the doors off Bama.

WTF has Franklin won to be #3? How many years has he even been in the SEC? I know he is at a shite school and has done a great job but how can you justify him at 3?

Spurrier has had many opportunities to make the SEC championship game and has shite the bed every time. Heads up with Miles he hasn't won a game.

I guess a 5 point loss is "blowing the doors off"

Because Sumlin did more with Les (pun, haha) and I think he is the better coach.

Are you serious? He has been to back to back to bowl games with Vandy in his first two years. It would be comical to see Les try to win at Vandy.

Yes and he is doing so at South fricking Carolina. Almost as hard as winning at Vandy and possibly harder than doing so at MSU or Ole Miss.

Miles' accomplishments are spectacular for a man with his mental handicap, but in my opinion the others are better coaches. Hell, I ranked him over a few that are probably better coaches than he is simply because i can't completely ignore his accomplishments.

Miles has a National Championship Ring(Not to far of from two), 2 SEC championships. And he has produced NFL players as well as any other school in the country. Is Les Miles at a better university? Yes. But putting coaches ahead of him that have only ever won a youth basketball participation trophy is unfair to what he has accomplished in his career.

What? You do realise he had the #2 draft pick at left tackle, the Heisman trophy winner at QB and daft picks at RB and WR. He was not working with less.

I think he is the better coach.

See this is what pisses me off. Just because YOU don't like Mile you THINK he is not good but you never use facts to make your point.

he is doing so at South fricking Carolina

He is the ole ball coach he would win where ever he went. I'm not taking that away from him but to be ranked above another coach wouldn't actually have to beat that coach at some point in time?

Miles beat big game Bob while at OK lite with lesser teams. But you wouldn't use that in your ranking would you?

Oh, ok. I could have sworn LSU has way more NFL caliber players than A&M. Maybe I am wrong. Am I?

I like Miles, I just think he is mentally deficient as a coach.

So. I can have a subjective opinion can't I?

No, not necessarily. Switch Miles to USCe and the ole ball coach to LSU and what do you think their accomplishments look like?

I just love how people say this then he goes out and beats the shite out of your team. Sorry but there are no dummies coaching college football.

Mile already proved himself at a smaller school. If Spurrier is so damn great what the hell is he doing at USCe?

So you ignore the number of points Sumlin's offense was able to put up at Houston? Or the fact that Malzahn's offenses have been good wherever he has been? That is fine, but I give credence to these facts.

So you ignore the question. What do you think Miles' accomplishments would look like if he came to the SEC at a school like Vandy or USCe or MSU?

The good DCs could figure it out.

You should have just waited to post this after an LSU loss, then there would be no dissent re: Les Miles.

Saban = It's not even close

Spurrier = these 3 have proven it over time
Miles
Richt

Sumlin = these 2 I think will prove it over time because in recruiting sweet spot
Muschamp

Mullen = all are capable, but not enough data or in tough place
Franklin (tough place)
Stoops (tough place)
Jones (lack data)
Pinkle (tough place)
Bielema (lack data)
Malzahn (lack data)
Freeze (not much data)

Seriously. Of course Miles has accomplished more in his career than most others, but a large part of my analysis was focusing on coaching ability. If every SEC coach had teams with identical players, which would be the best coach. Frankly, if I stuck to this analysis exclusively, Miles would be ranked much lower. However, I did also consider past accomplishments as well and that helped coaches such as Miles and Richt.

I think based solely on the fact of Mullen turning around the entire program and making us a consistent bowl team should put him in the top half as of right now. I mean hell, not but 5 years ago, we struggled to win just 3 games and now everyone is disappointed if we don't win at least 8 every year. The attitude of State fans and it's program has changed drastically in the Mullen era and that can't be denied by anyone.

We are all very proud that you put up ultimately meaningless points that cut the 20 point deficit you guys dug for yourselves.

I guess Auburn is the only team that can close a deficit that large in Brian Dennehy.

WDE, I liked your running back rankings better because they were easier to predict. One was Dyer no matter what.

This was the last one I could find
