To start the season with ga tech. They have that option attack perfected. Not the team you want to play before the kinks are worked out...

Yeah, why the hell would you want to have to prepare for a triple option team in the season opener?
Even if they has beat GT, it's not exactly a marquee win.

They have beaten the SEC how many games in a row now, I think 4-0 since 2016.

If you're playing the triple option, better to do it week one or for a bowl game. Gives you 4+ weeks to prepare. No reason Tennessee to look this bad with so many weeks to prepare.

I'd rather play them after 4 weeks of practicing against it than after only a regular week's practice.

Well, if you're going to play them, the season opener seems like the best time to do it, since you have the whole offseason to prepare.
