To me that cowbell ringing at Davis Wade is nothing more than sanctioned cheating.

What say y'all who have had to play there forever?

Beat their arse and you won't have to hear the bells.

If you get on them early it's not a problem. The issue arrives when kicking them out of bed in the morning. That shite will wake you up from a deep sleep.

They've never won anything significant, so we let them have it.

What would happen if MSU pulled into, say, Alabama, only to face nearly 100,000 cowbells?

I'd start a new career as a hearing specialist.

It's actually illegal. One of those that's not enforced. Kind of like pick plays in today's offense sells tickets football mentality.

It used to be illegal but then they came to an agreement. It's legal as long as they don't do it during play. It's basically the same as the PA system rules.

It is annoying as hell, but they aren't allowed to ring them when the players approach the LOS and presnap. State fans seemed to abide by this too, outside of a couple of dip shits. I thought the Dawg fans were loud has frick last night with out the clanging though.

Yeah, apparently it's not the most effective form of cheating...

Long story. Here's the basics. College sports were foreign to me growing up. Later, in 1965, I got stationed at Marietta, Georgia's NAS. Got caught up in the Dooley hysteria. Became a Georgia fan until staring Carolina in 1972.

Georgia was my first favorite team. Even did a bit of free lance scouting up here for Dooley.

It's my alma mater, so I now pull for both Carolina and Georgia. If that rubs you the wrong way, eat a hodgie. Trannies say that helps.

And the bitching continues like clockwork...

They are completely legal as long as the center is not over the ball. Yes, the stadium is louder when people actually yell. It’s a tradition and a pretty damn fun one. Get over it.

MUCH RESPECT

But the cowbell doesn’t bother anyone. It’s tradition!

If you think that's bad, I remember when they were allowed to use them at their basketball games! About 60 years ago they had a great coach (Babe McCarthy), players like Bailey Howell and Red Stroud, and played in a barn/quonset hut for a gym. NOBODY wanted to go play them...Put 5000 cow bell ringing nuts in an enclosed building all pulling like hell against you and see how that works out!
