I have a lot of respect for Kyle Trask

when his WRs bailed he could have, too. Unfortunately the prescedent was set a few years ago with potential high draft choices sitting out 'meaningless bowls.' Not too admirable, but certainly much more honorable than players "opting out" once the regular season started and quitting with regular season games remaining, as Terrace Marshall and Arik Gilbert did at LSU.
Good job,Kyle.

Me too, even when Merlin took him out of the game he was engaged and involved when the other QB was moving the team.

I agree. Trask is the type of player that made me a college football fan, and there are too few of them left in today's game.

Trask is humble and seems to have his head screwed on right. He's the ultimate team player and although he won't get the Heisman is very similar to Weurffel and Tebow in this arena.

OU understands passing concepts. There defense knew where the ball was going and mocked up the coverage before sending a db to the right spot for the int.
OU defense prep blew Trask mine. Holtzs did the same to quincy carter years ago.

Agreed OP. Seeing things through, finishing out commitments, and not quitting when things don't go like you wanted are admirable qualities. Good for him.

quote:I disagree, OU has given up 54 (UGA), 45 (bama) and 63 (LSU) the past three years.

If Trask had Pitts and Toney they would have scored with them.

I agree. Imo, the worst part of it all is the utter betrayal toward his teammates. These guys worked their asses off so that these prima donnas can have the opportunity to have success, then when it comes, they're told, "bye bye, I don't need you any more."
If the truth was told, I'll bet there's a ton of hard feelings on the teams who were told to frick off!

Trask sticks it out and the kid that ops out and then sends out a “good luck” video gets airtime during your game. I’d be pissed

Tons of respect for Kyle Trask. First off, he didn't opt out like his top skill players did. Secondly, even though he decided to play in the game, Dan Mullen suggested that he was going to play his younger QB and players in the game anyway to build for next year. Did Dan let Kyle know this ahead of time or just make this up after he struggled for a bit in the game? Kyle had everything to lose and nothing to gain in this game if that was Dan's plan from the beginning, he ultimately probably should have sit out as well, but he didn't! Props to him even though Dan set him up for failure that could really hurt his draft position.
