It's not everyday a school fires their all time winningest coach in program history. Props to AK for speaking his mind in his post game interview. He should have saved it for after the season, but you can't blame him for saying what he needed to say.

I’ve always liked Kennedy. Bdork is such a queer though.

Best coach they ever had, and they don't let him and his kids finish the season. TAOM.

Kennedy has always been a good speaker and flashy dresser. He's overrated though and he only made the NCAA twice in 12 seasons one of those by winning the SECT. Ole Miss can do better and AK will land on his feet somewhere else. Good move for both. Now Ole Miss go hire Rick Pitino.

KenNITy is a great coach. Doubt Ole Miss finds someone better in their next hire IMO

Something seems fishy. Wonder if he gets a bigger "golden parachute" for 'stepping down' instead of getting fired?

Was that actually a link to his postgame presser like it says, or was it his Monday presser to announce he was stepping down?

Sometimes deals happen but rarely do coaches get more for stepping down. They may however get better circumstances. For example, they want out but don't want to lose their buyout and the school wants them gone so they negotiate and take less buyout in exchange for getting out early and both parties move on.
I'd say in this case it's more like when other long-time coaches are allowed to step-down as a nod to who they are and what they've done for the program. In that situation, programs often still give them the full buyout but 'stepping down' saves face for both parties and allows fans to say goodbye.
Sometimes an amicable split (or at least as amicable as you can make it look to fans and boosters) is the only way a program can move forward without seriously damaging itself.

He seems extremely confused on why they suck. It's because you fielded a team that doesn't have anybody down low worth a damn. Confusion over.

I can buy that.

OM will botch this hire, just like they botched the hire of their football coach.

A school dealing with the aftermath of serious NCAA issues hires a basketball coach with NCAA issues in his past.
What could possibly go wrong?
