I don't think the BIG 10 will finish their season

*8 consecutive games with no bye-week
*Players must sit out for 21 days following a positive test
*Shutdown threshold of just 5% positivity rate for a team
So basically if 6 or 7 kids are positive at the same time, they shut it down.
Good luck finishing a season. It's almost like the Presidents said, "Let's play!" to appease the angry fans, but they've made the rules so impossible that they'll never actually play.... not a full season at least.
The SEC built in December 12 as a bye for all teams so that if games have to be postponed, there is an open date to play the games. The BIG 10 has not left any room to make up postponed games.
I fully expect some BIG 10 teams to only play 4 or 5 games this season. If that's the case, they shouldn't be considered for the playoff.

There is zero room for flexibility. Which everyone is going to need to finish a season.
And we better not see Ohio State jump back into the top three of the polls come the week of October 24th.

Umm. I would expect them to be in the Top 3 this Sunday. Now that they have plans to play, I believe that makes them eligible to be ranked.

Who cares about the Big 10? This is an SEC board.

So they sit idle in the top three for a month?
You’re going to have teams with 5 or 6 games under their belt by late October. But Ohio State just gets to waltz back in. Ultimately only the playoff rankings matter, but it still seems like bullshite.

Urban did when he bolted UF to be in position to coach a better program.

That winter weather will be a bitch on players.

I agree with you, but I think those are the rules.

Has anyone seen the updated schedule?

Don't give a shite about the polls. CFP committee rankings is all that matters.

It hasn't been released yet. But an 8-game schedule will likely include 6 divisional games + the 1 permanent cross-divisional rivals + 1 rotating cross-divisional opponent.
Here are the current permanent cross-divisional games:
Ohio State - Nebraska
Penn State - Iowa
Michigan - Wisconsin
Michigan St. - Northwestern
Indiana - Purdue
Maryland - Minnesota
Rutgers - Illinois
Look for Wisconsin to go undefeated this season if they can somehow play the full season. Their likely schedule:
Home games against Minnesota, Purdue, and Illinois
Road games at Northwestern, Nebraska, Iowa, and Michigan
They'll also have one more home game which will likely come against Indiana, Maryland, or Rutgers
The BIG 10 is going to set up an Ohio State/Penn State vs. undefeated Wisconsin for their Title Game

This season is going to be a mess one way or the other, theres no realistic path to the committee coming up with a 4 team playoff that is without serious doubt. all of the conferences have shown cowardice cancelling their non conference games. they could easily have played the one marquee game and give us SOME cross conference data.
The only thing im glad about the big ten jumping back in is it reduces the likelihood of two ACC teams getting into the playoff. without the big ten, it was definitely going to be 2 SEC, Clemson, and either Notre Dame or Oklahoma.

It would make sense for them to go the route of the ACC and get rid of divisions so that the B1G Championship is between the two best teams. Of course they're unlikely to do that because it might affect getting a B1G team into the CFP.

frick the Little 10. Biggest crawfish in college football history.

Bama got to do that twice. Sitting idle and then skating in the playoff or championship game.

These rules are so ridiculous.
Why the frick do all these people treat this virus like you are catching the black plague or the walking dead
21 days to sit out. The whole world is only 14 or less
My god, these fricking old people making decisions are the worst
We should have never gotten to this as country or the world. This virus is as overrated as big 12 football

I came to this board to see the reactions. Little disappointing. Didn't realize this many proud SEC fans were scared of OSU.
