The #1 seed has never won the CFP.
#2 has won 3 and #4 has won 2.

It’s the perception that Clemson will be a much tougher opponent than whoever ends up at 4.
But you’re right in that people are way too worked up over it. Honestly I just want to win the next 2, whatever would happen in the playoff at that point would be gravy.

Not sure where ppl are getting this. LSU fans are just excited to be in the top 4.

LSU is #1 in AP, Coaches and what would be the BCS. But somehow the human committee puts them at 2?
That's what irritates me. It's frustrating that against all the data, bias can still frick this shite up. If they can do it in Week 13, they can do it down the road just as easily.

There are a dozen+ threads and hundreds of posts by LSU fans that differ with you. Just look back over the last couple of days.

We’ll see how it plays out but having Clemson and tOSU eliminate each other sounds like a slightly easier path.

The 1 seed is assumed to have a easier path to the final game, as the drop off between #3 and #4 is generally seen as substantial. It matters...kinda. Just win and you get in. Personally, if they're doing this to avoid an SEC semifinal because they expect Bama to get in then I want to stay number one. There would be nothing sweeter than beating Bama in the regular season and then knocking them out of the playoff in the semi.
