I don’t know anyone pushing that story. All reports are that he had to be terminated for a recruiting violation.

I don't know about not liking recruiting. But, it's seems pretty well known that he wasn't good at it and he was supposedly caught making impermissible contact with Tristan Leigh among others. Compliance found out and Orgeron fired him on the spot. At least that's the story.

We can deduce with 100% certainty that he didn’t commit sexual assault, because LSU DGAF about that.

The funny thing is Orgeron wanted to keep him. You don’t let someone go at this point unless you have to.

I think that story of recruiting violations was speculation that turned into a rumor. However, nothing further came out about it today. Which indicates it wasn't true.

What I think is Ed O made up his mind that he needed to hire a new OL coach. So after Ed O decided he wanted Brad Davis, he started communicating and negotiating with him behind the scenes. Then when the two of them reached an agreement, Ed O announced that James Cregg had been terminated and then announced, less that 24 hours later, that Brad Davis had been hired as the new OL coach.

Ed O did it because he wanted to have a new OL coach hired and in place before the big gun OL recruits arrived this weekend.

The complaints about meathead whiffing on prospects is well documented. All of a sudden, you almost look as desperate as SerranusVOL.

Oh, and congrats on your unlocked achievement:

How about, he sucked at recruiting and more importantly development. I know that's disappointing and lacking drama. I'll inform O we need something more salacious on the next firing.

Its pretty amazing how little you people who spend so much time here actually know about the game itself, and the drama around it.
