Our former AD Greg Byrne who is now the AD at Arizona was on a radio show (Bo Bounds) last week discussing the match between his new University and MSU. He said when he looked for a replacement for Lopez that he called John Cohen asking his opinion and Cohen told him "Hire Jay Johnson, he is an up and coming coach that is a winner and knows the game."

Go figure that's who we lost to lol. You just can't make this stuff up.

We've actually played this team 5 or 6 times in the last three seasons.

Host a Super Regional-NO Thanks

Here's my reasoning. Since 1999 when Super Regionals began, there has been no clear evidence that hosting the Super helps a team get to Omaha. Only 53% of the host teams move on. I dare say it hurts a teams chance because the 43% where they lost, they were probably favored. This is bearing out with the SEC teams left in the Supers. The reason, given by experts, is they have a tremendous amount of pressure being favored and from their fans. Bulldogs, this is clearly our case in that of the 9 times were have gone to Omaha, only once (1) have we hosted. So next Super-We'll Pass

In fairness, 4% of super regionals end in ties. They are decided in a mega regional dance off/mascot race.

Saw him at the Little Dooey on Saturday along with Stricklin. One of Arizona's relief pitchers was also in there with his family, which I thought was kind of cool. I'm more used to the football mentality where they keep you on lockdown, but thought it was pretty cool they get to get out and about over the weekend.

Wait....a coach recommended a young coach to an AD? And that coach got the job and actually is winning some games?

Alert the press. Do you have any more incredible coincidences or crazy life stories to tell?
