No one can deny the effectiveness of the Jesus Back/Runslinger. The moniker is really a personal preference thing. I prefer Runslinger.

But if Johnny has improved since last season he's going to jump Cam IMO.

Cam was only a starter for one year but I'm not sure how he could have been any more dominant in that time. Unless his arms shoot missiles and his eyes can shoot laser beams JFF is not going to jump Cam on the basis of any single year of football

LSU 2007 would not have been a fun game for him if you put on that gator squad.

The thread should have ended right here. Manziel would've needed a flack jacket during this game.

As far as comparing, neither will ever do anything at the NFL level.

From a DBs point of view:

Johnny M - "just let me get one clean shot at him..."

Tebow - "please let him run the other way..."

No doubt. He was a force in college, but the NFL exposed his lack of polished QB skill. He was a hell of an athlete and with the help he had while at UF he was able to dominate teams.

From a fan perspective I feared playing can newton more than tebow and tebow more than manziel

Yeah, I can't really see Tebow or Manziel dragging PP7 the way Cam did.

Tebow maybe, he did have 20 pounds on PP7 and he was amazing at finishing as a runner near the goal line

Manziel would have had to either dodge or get lit up.

Peterson weighed 222 lbs, no way Tebow had 20 lbs on him. Maybe 10, but that's not really much of a difference.

Let's get down to the real point that Aggy wants to know, though. I know Aggy won't stop making threads like this until someone says it, so I'll just do it for everyone. After the Manzier's (bro?) great season, we can say for sure that for at least one season:

Manziel is almost as good at playing quarterback as Tyrann Mathieu is at playing corner.

I knew that many of you would not believe that it was that close and that Mathieu far outstripped Manziel. I'm here to tell you that it is. The Manzier is almost as good at his position as Mathieu is at his. Think about it. Mathieu was a Heisman finalist as a defensive back. It takes a super human effort above and beyond what a quarterback has to do to be a Heisman finalist as a defensive player.*

*note does not apply to overrated Notre Dame defenders that manufacture sob stories.

No I was just confused by your random insertion of HB7 into the conversation. Carry on.

10 isn't much of a difference. And Johnny has put on 10 pounds. He's 72" and 210-215 now

And as Dilfer put it, a lot is in his arse. That's why he isn't injury prone. He has a sturdy base

But now that you've considered it, you can see why Manziel is almost as good as Mathieu was in terms of performance at their respective positions, yes?

I think Mathieu's ST play elevated his overall game to make it even but I would say comparative to their respective positions that JFF>HB7. JMO though

As far as I know, Mathieu is not susceptible to being defeated by the little wind Planeteer like Manzier.

The power over Manziel is apparently hers.
