I don't think we have to worry about all that.

Tebow thrived in Urban Meyer's system...

Manziel reminds me more of Michael Vick...he makes plays happen, while Tebow is a great leader and wills his team to win

So when JFF puts up the same numbers this year and we win the MNC he will finally be better than both in your mind?

Sure. If he puts up heisman numbers again and wins the division, conference and MNC I will put him in the same conversation, but I don't know about better. Also, if my aunt had nuts, she would be my uncle.

TAMU faced short yardage situations against Florida and LSU and FAILED to convert when it mattered in the 2nd half of both games.

That didn't happen to Tebow much.

Tebow's lifetime stats:

692 rushes, 3360 yards, 57 TD
661-995, 66.5%, 9285 yards, 88 TD, 16 INT

Passing Efficiency rankings nationally:

2007 - #2 - 172.5 passing efficiency
2008 - #4 - 172.37 passing efficiency
2009 - #1 - 164.17 passing efficiency

Holds the career record for rushing TD's in a career. Had a career record of 35-6 as a starter. UF went 48-7 with him on the team.

He is second ALL TIME in career passing effciency in the NCAA. He is the SEC's all time leader in passing efficiency, completion percentage, TD to INT ratio, rushing yards by a QB, rushing TD from any position, and total TD's responsible for.

Tebow was 3rd for a career in the NCAA all time in yards per attempt, and onws the record for most games in which he both threw at least one TD and rushed for at least 1 TD.

Maybe Manziel will match him. Maybe. He's not there yet.

From a fan perspective I feared playing can newton more than tebow and tebow more than manziel

Could that change yeah... But I had to watch tebow inflict misery at the college level for 4 years. Now tebow was on a better team but you just couldn't scheme against him

I've seen good defenses make manziel look like a bad qb. Maybe it is just because some years have passed but I don't recall tebow disappearing for a quarter or 2 quarters in a big game, his presence was always felt I thought

Tebow obviously has more accomplishments. But-

The only way to truly compare talent is to take the team out of it and go back to the playground system of picking teams.

If you pick QB first - who do you pick?

I take JFF without even having to think.

which makes perfect sense as a LSU fan

LSU faced Newton once and he had a monster game. LSU faced Tebow four times and lost 3 of 4 (but did control him in a relative sense in a couple of those). LSU has faced JFF once and did a really good job of limiting him after the first drive (won the game)

No one is saying JFF isn't a great player. He's just being compared to two of the greatest quarterbacks in the recent history of the SEC

The ow would defend your girls honor. JFF would simply be on her.

Correct answer.

Manziel appears to have a much higher potential ceiling, but all he's got so far is the Heisman.

Tebow was under the microscope from the moment he signed with UF and he lived up to it. Three SEC title game appearances, two national titles (yes, he played a big role in the first) and a Heisman is getting it done.

The JFF media frenzy built up as last season progressed. He got close to half a season of little to no outside pressure. Secret's out, now he's got to show he can still get it done.

First, I hate that quoting on mobile loses the format.

Second, you're comparing all of Tim's college career in a vacuum, to 2 years of Johnny's.

Go ahead and exclude 08 and 09 to get a fair comparison. I also consider the defenses that helped the teams. UF had an elite defense. A&Ms defense was pretty good but not great and certainly not elite.

If I'm trying to objectively compare the two I think I'll take Manziel over Tebow but its close.

At this point I might take Cam over either

But if Johnny has improved since last season he's going to jump Cam IMO. Even if our D doesn't allow us a championship.

Good points. I was worried about a Heisman hangover in the Cotton Bowl. And giving the Stoops a month to game plan and watch all 12 of our games. It wouldn't have surprised me to see Johnny have a less than Johnny game.

But then he had the best bowl performance ever

I'd take Cam over both in a fricking heartbeat no question about it

A guy with size of Tebow, the open field running of JFF, and a better arm than both?

Who in their right mind wouldn't?!

I'd probably measure them, time them, watch them lift weights. The standard type of things. If the price is right, I might even contrast them.

I'm not saying he won't come out and light it up again this year, just that he's got to do it before I'll put him on the same level as Tebow.

So you would pick a one year wonder over a proven winner? Ok

Not going to happen. Cam had it all, he could truck you, out run you and pass the ball. Unless JFF just blows it up the next 2 seasons I don't see him passing Tebow or Cam.

aTm fans just don't realize how good Tebow was as a college QB. After he left Florida went to shite, he carried that team and they don't win two title without him there. If JFF can will aTm to some hardware then we can put him in the same category as Tebow and Cam.

One was a FB playing QB the other is a QB that can scramble very well.

Right. They just win the one.
